What do you guys think? I think he will obviously have at least one more fight. I thought he beat Mayweather, but the judges didn't see it that way, and I doubt ODLH will want to retire on a loss.
So who do you see next for the Golden Boy? Wright? Spinks? Forrest? Baldomir?
why would u put baldomir in there.
Because Baldomir and Forrest are fighting a WBC 154 Title eliminator. Even though I know de la Hoya no longer holds the title, it still would be a possibility.
Eventhough Oscar is clearly past it, he was still pretty good in there at times. He did better than I expected. He should go after Margarito or Williams. I dont think Cotto should move up in weight again win or lose because he would be pretty small for that division. Atleast for now. If Judah wins, he said he wanted to fight him too.
I have a potential fight for DLH and it would be a damn good one too. How about DLH vs Jermain Taylor at a catch weight of 157? Both fighters are known to tire down the stretch, and it would give DLH the chance to gain the middle weight belt. IMO Taylor ko's DLH(hardest puncher he would have ever faced). but if it goes the distance and the fight takes place in LV, DLH may pull it off. just a thought
Signing a contract to fight the best is one thing, what you do once you're locked up inside that ring against the best is another. Oscar always chose the easy way out. Lets put it this way, if DLH was a football player, he'd be best off being the field goal kicker, 'cause there's no way his @ss is gonna go across the field and catch the ball in traffic.
You're right? I doubt you've been watching his fights or boxing for very long. Just get on the bang wagon and roll on outta here. Even his haters aren't as bad as yourself.
You need to get out more. I'm not a Oscar nut hugger, but he always fought the best and never ducked anyone.
Forget a Gatti rematch...A chavez III is on the cards at Light heavy. Each contract states neither fighter is allowed to train for this fight.Signing a contract to fight the best is one thing, what you do once you're locked up inside that ring against the best is another. Besides those choices above, I think DLH can target some more C-level comp that he has thrived off his entire career. Hmm how does a rematch w/ GATTI sound Oscar???

WINKY: THERE'S NO WAY DLH IS GONNA WANNA MESS W/ ANOTHER SOUTHPAW OF WRIGHT'S CALIBER, UNLESS WINKY GETS KTFO BY B-HOP AND HERE COMES DLH, DOIN' WHAT HE DOES BEST, GO AFTER DEADMEAT.
SPINKS: A SLICK SOUTHPAW. OSCAR SAYS,"FORGET ABOUT IT". THEN AGAIN SPINKS IS ABOUT AS SOFT AS OSCAR IS, SO TWO MARSHMALLOWS GOING AT IT, WE SHOULD SEE A LOT OF BLUFF, OOPS I MEANT FLUFF FLYING AROUND.
BALDOMIR: DLH LOVES HOLLYWOOD, AND BALDO PROVIDES THAT HOLLYWOOD STORY, AND DLH THRIVES OFF GLAMORIZED JOURNEYMEN WHO STANDS STILL
FORREST: HAVEN'T SEEN FORREST IN A LONG WHILE, HE MAY GIVE OSCAR FITS, HELL AT THIS POINT, MAYBE FORREST CAN PULL IT OFF.

This was a major dissapointment to me.
I'm talking the kind of dissapointment that makes me not want anything to do with boxing for awhile. (a short while anyways)
When Morales was knocked out I didn't want anything to do with boxing for a week. But in my heart I knew he gave everything he had.
With Oscar it's different. It was like he just didn't want it that bad enough. He had the p4p king down on points and couldn't dig down enough to finish with a little activity.
It hurts man, it hurts.
I'm hearing ya.
DLH's future is he'll continue to cash in on boxing till he gets an actual beating by someone. Once he does then he will contemplate retirement not because he wont be able to make more money, but because for the first time he will feel his health is in danger and he wont want that for his family. It's not his health that he's worried about, it's his "money maker", ya know, his pretty mug. No wonder he likes to play "keep away" everytime he's against World-Class competition.

I would like to see him fight Tito for shits and giggles but I can't see Oscar fighting again. There isn't anyone else out there he could beat and redeem himself in the eyes of the boxing world except beating the guys who beat him. His last shot at greatness would have to be a shot at the Middleweight title again, I know it's stupid, but backing up Floyd and not throwing punches is stupid. Oscar will die wondering how good he was, because he never went to the line in the fights that really mattered. Instead of watching all those tapes of Floyd I think a visit to the Morales fight Library, with some research on how to finish a fight would not go astray for Oscar, since he hasn't finished a fight strong since Feb 99.
