That's an error, for Barerra Morales! It should be the first and third!
As for Jones-Telesco..... I gues it's a matter of opinion. For me, it was the single greatest display of boxing I've ever seen in my life. Awe-inspiring.
Mayweather-Gatti was beautiful in the same sense. Maybe I'm a sadist. I love to see the beatdowns which were implemented through skill.
Im with you on the Mayweather/Gatti beat down. It was a showcase of beautiful boxing skill.
That fight was crazy. Torres dropped in round one. Cotto badly hurt in round 2 and then dropped. Cotto making a comeback in rounds 3 and 4 and doing some good work. Then Cotto again badly hurt in round 5. Cotto comes back and drops Torres in round 6. Then Miguel finishes the job in round 7.
And when Cotto was hurt, it wasn't momentarily. He was almost out on his feet, stumbling around, in both rounds 2 and 5.
exactly...that fight was gold.
i'd say taylor/chavez was my #1 of the 90's (its my favorite fight of all-time because of everything encompassed in the fight).
i think that toney/jirov was one of the 5 best fights since 2000. phone booth mayhem on top of a beautiful style contrast on top of last round drama. the cruiserweight king against the cagey ex-champ on a compelling comeback. it had one of the finest final rounds of all-time.

I'm a little sadistic too. I enjoy watching beatings when there's top notch skill involved too. But I thought Roy's beating of Hall was better than his beating of Telesco.
Some of my favorite beatings of all-time are Qawi-L. Spinks, Chavez-Rosario, Duran-Moore, PBF-Gatti, PBF-Ndou, Tyson-Biggs, Tszyu-MAGO, and Hopkins-Johnson.
Actually that's for another thread I will start.
I'm a little puzzled by these choices. Jones-Telesco and PBF-Gatti were one-sided beatdowns (especially PBF-Gatti) and Barrera-Morales II was by far the weakest of their trilogy.

Good list, but I don't know about Cotto-Torres being up there.
