to be honest if i had a choice weather too watch judah vs cotto or mayweather vs de la hoya, id chose judah vs cotto over the other fight..i think this could be like torres cotto but with cotto losing!!

Cheers dude! :biggthump
I knew about the Calderon fight, how mad is that! Ivan and Cotto at the same weight!
Calderon worshipped in PR as well? The boy got some sick skillz! He is one of my favourite fighters
Instinct primarily. But I believe that Cotto is more flawed than seems initially apparent to his many supporters here.
Zab Judah is a man with far superior speed, athletic abilty, reflexes, and power that is equal to if not superior/inferior to Cotto's.
We can debate Zab's heart or his discipline, but I figure the guy is going to keep his shit together.
I hope there's alot of talk that Zab will fade in the fight, or that he has no chin.
I hope Zab hears every fucking word from here until June.
I highly doubt Zab's motivation will be from criticism, he's a pro and been around long enough to get used to it. He is fast and a southpaw tho with some power, at welterweight he has tko'd cosme rivera, wayne martell, and corey spinks at jr welter he had a very high ko percentage tho most were b caliber fighters.
On Cotto being flawed, he does have some flaws, strengths and weaknesses. Im sure a lot of people picked up on them but the interesting thing about the guy is he seems to take on a variety of difficult opponents and finds a way to win usually pretty convincingly and keep improving. You apparently are a big Judah fan or want to see Cotto get beat for some reason, whatever I just wanna discuss the fight. I don't have a miguel cotto poster on the wall over my bed but I would say Im a fan. The guy has an exciting style of fighting, and I respect the fact that he has a humble, grounded personality. Zab needs to win this fight or have an impressive showing even if he loses or his carreer looks to be taking a turn for the worse. I think Zab should have chose someone like Cintron to make as opposed to Cotto but we will have a great fight to watch
well i think that Cotto is abit overrated. he is a good fighter but not what people make up to be.
most of the people he fought are propects and vetran so many of his win depend on what the other guy there are going to do. Torres won a title but some calm it was a gift deiscion. and the time he fought Cotto he was a replacment for Branco took it in short notice
u guys keep saying JUDAH has been inactive, but hes fighting only a month prior to his fight with COTTO... so... He shouldnt be very rusty.
for a fighter that depends on technical ability, speed and reflexes especially at this weight I don't think Zab fighting twice a year is quite enough. He will be fighting for the 1st time since a 1 year lay off opponent ? which may or may not let him shake off the rust. This will to me be a big component of this fight and not an unfair criticism. that being said I would not be surpised if Cotto does get tagged and floored, zab is good and can hit hard and Cotto is overly aggressive early on and Im still not confident he has a good chin.
This fight should be a cracker.
Zab will need to be in the best shape of his career, because if he gets tired in the middle to late rounds I see Cotto putting him away.
Zab has to keep moving to have any chance. He must box not brawl.
Zab and Mike Tyson developed what seemed to be a bully/crybaby mentality later in their careers.
If they started losing they would crack up..
But Zab is still a little guy, and he's used to being the thorn.
He can get up for this.
He's going to be in his element when he rides in.
Cotto will get lanced.
He hasn't seen turbo yet.
Addison looks like you are pretty confident Judah will win this one, what makes you think so?

Im sure Cotto and his camp will come in with a good game plan taking into account Zab's inactivity and tendency to shoot his wad early. I would think the best approach would be attack the body and fight a little defensively till the 5th round and then turn it on. Unless Zab lands something early I don't see him winning let alone finishing.
No dont misinterpret my post.
I said he would have gotten even more props had he decided on taking Judah when he was not down and out.
I don't know about that. Zab now is high risk, low reward. Before he lost to Baldy and Floyd he would've been high risk, extremely high reward, as he was undisputed WW champion of the world.
Cotto is taking a big risk on Judah on low rewards and he's doing it just to fight a "name" and assure himself as one of the best fighters out there. He could've fought some totally unknown bum or a prospect but he chose a seasoned and dangerous veteran in Zab. I think Cotto and Arum deserve some props.
That's a good point.
I credit them for their advantageousness.
Possibly. I think Cotto will show better defense and balance due to being comfortable at 147. Torres was hurting Cotto with several power shots in succession...including one vicious combo that was punctuated with that VICIOUS uppercut at the end. Judah is certainly capable of putting power punches together, so it's a matter of Cotto being able to avoid taking several shots at a time.
I think this may look a bit more like Cotto/Corley than Cotto/Torres, with Judah hurting Cotto with something he cannot see coming (if at all). Can't wait for this shit though. Cotto is certainly showing that he isn't afraid of taking on potentially dangerous opponents when he doesn't need to with this one and the Quintana fight.
low rewards??????
If he wins this, he gets a shot at every big name in the division. INCLUDING mayweather if he decides to fight on. (cause if mayweather beat judah, and cotto beat judah, its a logical matchup)
Its JUDAH who is taking the high risk and VERY VERY VERY low reward.
Low reward for beating a popular unbeaten fighter who is on everyones p4p list?
Its JUDAH who is taking the high risk and VERY VERY VERY low reward.
Well if Judah wins we becomes WBA welterweight champion, theres a reward for you. He also beats a good name and a good fighter in the process. However; it is indeed high risk, this is probably his last chance. If he loses he will have to start from scratch.
