Judah could easily be the best welterweight if he dedicates himself to the sport again. Many forget he did have a knockdown against mayweather, however the referee did not see Mayweather's glove touch the canvas. I believe it was in the 2nd or 3rd round. If Judah would have extended his dominance for 3 more rounds in that fight, he would have had a draw at least (in my opinion).
Do you think theres any chance he could comeback this year and beat a top fighter? Or do you think he is completley done being a top boxer?
Shit he is still a top boxer IMO.He knocked Floyd down and was doing very well the first 4 or 5 rounds against him.He could have easily beaten Baldomir if he had focused so I don't think he is a bad fighter or done by any means he is just menatlly weak and not disiplined enough...........Zab can still beat most guys at 140 or 147.....He would UD Hatton too IMO.
Judah has fast hands and reflexes. I don't see him getting anywhere if he does not improve his defense. If he is going to be the same fighter he was (or is) he will never climb to the top. It seems like any good shot to the chin hurts Judah and thats no good. He should get another trainer and sharpen his defensive skills.
who are you today? i can't believe this, you making sense. I agree he is still very dangerous and probably the 3rd or 4th best WW in the division right now behind Floyd and Cotto and maybe Mosley. If he went down to 140, he would rule that division, there isn't much there anymore that should bother him except for maybe Hatton and Castillo.
lol, I always spit the truth man! Yeah I agree with that stuff, Hatton should beat him but I dont like that fight, Ive got visions of a super quick/lethal left cross droppin Ricky like fellow southpaw Magee only worse! But Id start Hatton favourite. Cotto should beat his ass bad but again its dangerous and i dont like it as a Cotto and Hatton fan!

No, he's not completely done. He is better than many fighters out there at 147 and should put his nose to the grindstone and go after some of the younger stars that are beginning to shine. He's still good enough to beat severl....and because of his speed, power, and, more importantly the unpredictability of his chin, any fight he gets into will be entertaining.
Word is Judah will return in April (as SoundTraveler said), but also on ESPN2 Friday Night Fights against the perennial challenger that is TBA. The card will be held at the DeSoto County Civic Center in Southaven, MS, just south of Memphis, TN.
This being a Prize Fight card, expect to see at least one of the Peterson brothers on ESPN2 again, perhaps both in more build-up action.
As for potential opponents, I predict someone along the lines of Miguel Gonzalez, who somehow is rated in the top 10 of three alphabets, and is #7 in the WBO above Judah who is at #10. He'd better crush him and quick if he wants to regain some momentum--I'm talking Cosme Rivera quick...
Any other realistic opponent ideas?
Judah aint done yet, mark my words! I pick him to lose against the big names but he could potentialy beat em all! He has skills, Fast hands and feet and IMO is the most dangerous 1 shot hitter in the division! Its hard to pick him to win tho coz he aint consistant enough has a poor chin and concentration! But shit man he is still very very dangerous!

If judah can get a couple of decent wins under his belt, i wouldn't mind seeing him against hatton at 140 if he can still make the weight. Judah has the skills to out-box hatton but his chin would make the fight a good one.
When you're 29 years old in boxing and people are still talking about your potential instead of career that means you're a BUST
Most accurate post in this thread.
He should go back down to 140 and knock everyone out.
He still has the tools and talent to cause anybody hell - and Floyd Mayweather wasn't just anybody..
I just want to say that you have a funny ass Avatar!!!

i cant wait to see zab again....im a huge fan but honestly i think he got a raw deal in the mayweather fight...
id like to see zab lure baldy out of retirement and get some redemption...
Is he still with that fuck up of a father? I really hope you're not one of his boys that is contributing to his being a dumbass. He was one of my favorite fighters. Hopefully he can come back strong.
No I am just a ring announcer, Zab and I have the same promotors "Prizefight Boxing" - Zab will have a different crew this time out.
I think he should've been suspended but not for a year. 6 months would've pushed back a fight and made him lose a few hundred thousand dollars. Good enough punishment. I think he could take any of the titles if he is at his best or even near his best. If he's not, then he is just another contender at WW.
I Thought He Really Got Fucked Over In The Mayweather Fight. First He Knocks Mayweather Down And Its Not Counted Then The Scuffle With Roger. They Maybe Shoud Have Fined Him But No Way Did It Warrant A Suspension. He Should Be Credited With Giving Mayweather His 2nd Most Difficult Match And I Definitely Think He Could Take Cintron's Title, Dont Know About Margarito, The Guy Might Be Too Physical For Him To Handle.
I was with Zab all last weekend, and I can tell you he has been in the gym through the entire suspension, and sparring lots of rounds with the Peterson brothers, and just today I was told the negotiations have begun for a return to the ring in April. Zab will be in the mix and definately has a very good shot at being a World Champion once again in 2007....
