berto is fun to watch , and that s it . No defence , no guard , no head movement , relies on strenght and he is short and squat .
Any decent 147 pounder with height and skills advantages schools him big time . Cotto wouldnt outbox him but break him down badly .
he reminds me of mamadou thiam , with less skills .
Williams would beat Berto..
but man Figueroa got a beating.
I like both but i think Berto would win,he'll beat Williams to the punch,Berto is fast and he always does a 1-2,id have Berto by UD
He reminds me of a young Mosley, hes got a JAB,hes big like Lacy, but hes NOTHING like Lacy,Andre Berto is a boxer/puncher,Lacys jus a 1 dimensional puncher,Berto is definatly a future welterweight champ,he can box,i dont think his D's too bad,he knows how to twist n turn with it
I thought he was pretty impressive too. Strong kid...quick hands...sharp puncher. He did kind of give you elements of the young Shane Mosley...sans the combination punching. Those were some wicked uppercuts he landed on Figueroa...that knockout was nasty too. Figueroa turned right into that bomb that sent him back into the corner...then ate 2 more clean shots while slumped over.
hes a great prospect with PBF leaving the WW division and him getting few more tune up matches i think he can handle with the big boys in that division e.g. cotto mosley etc
Yeah he did look really good. His opponent looked real soft though and I knew he wasn't gonna last long unless Berto let him. Berto has to improve his D though and move a little more he stood right in front a lot.
Berto really is a BEAST.
Him and Vanes are 1 and 1 against on another as amateurs on their road to the Olympics.
Vanes is actually the guy that kept Berto off the USA Olympic team. Berto then decided to join the Haiti team.
I look forward to a possible pro matchup between Berto and Vanes in the near future.

High workrate, tremendous athlete, strong, resilient, killer instict, constant aggressor
However, poor D and can get hit easily, keeps his left hand TOO low
I still think he'd whoop Margarito. Too athletic and powerful for the ultra slow and awkward Tony.
