Undefeated Rey 'Boom Boom' Bautista wowed the crowd that trooped to the Fight Club in Banilad, Cebu yesterday, as he knocked out one sparmate, and engaged in torrid exchange of leathers with two more sparmates in his first public appearance since injuring his right collarbone that cancelled an scheduled fight in the US.
Now healthy and ready to rumble, Bautista is booked to face Brazilian Giovanni Andrade on December 2 at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Florida underneath the Golden Boy Promotions card headlining Winky Wright against the very dangerous Ike 'Bazooka' Quartey.

At yesterday's public sparring session, Bautista wasted no time in showcasing his power, knocking out Leon Maratas with a big left to the body in the second round.
Bautista then took on Reman Salim for two rounds, before finally facing Mark John Yap also for two rounds.
The charismatic young fighter then obliged for photo and autograph requests from fans.
However, the one fight that Bautista is salivating over is against WBO superbantam champ Daniel Ponce De Leon, who has made erroneous claims that Bautista has been running away from him, three times.
"Why should I be scared of him? Who is he? We can even fight tomorrow if he wants," said the gutsy fighter from Candijay, Bohol.
Bautista said that contrary to Ponce De Leon's claim, it's the champion who seems to be ducking him.
"I met him one time, and I looked at him straight in the eye, and he had this scared look. The truth is, Ponce De Leon is not unbeatable. He could not even touch my stablemate Z Gorres when they sparred!" Bautista said.
Meanwhile, Indonesia's Angky "Time Bomb" Angkota also impressed the crowd with his variety of shots showcased in a punchmitt session with his trainer Errol Van Room.
Angkota, who is dedicating tomorrow's fight for his baby named DelaAngkota, faces the vastly-talented Alex John 'Bazooka' Banal in the night's co-featured 10-rounder in Mandaue City.
here are some pics of his most recent sparring where KOed his sparring partner...

no one should fight Caballero, hes a circus freak, too fucking tall....
he aint' that good, his last fight was razor thin close, i won't argue with anyone if they had caballero losing, one of the announcer i belive by his reaction had caballero losing but didnt' want to admit it.
ponce has gotten a lot better, he could beat caballero now
he was just weight drained, that hard headed fool went two pound under the limit and had already been having weight issues,i think jhonny could outbox dpdl ,what i want to see is jhonny and caballero
johhny v. caballero would be great, but caballero has been calling out ponce, which is a fight i wouldnt' mind seeing but ponce says that caballero is too akward to fight again
HA JOHNNY COULDINT HANDLE THE FIRE POWER HE WOULD BREAK IN 3 OR 4 ROUNDS HE DOSENT HAVE MUCH PUNCH RESISTANTS FROM WHAT I SAW IN HIS LAST FIGHT......EVRYTIME HE GOT HIT YOU COULD SEE THE LIFE COME OUT OF HIM.........BUT THATS JUST WHAT I SAW ......MABEY YOU SAW DIFFREN......BUT JOHNNY IS GOOD JUST CANT GET HIT TO MUCH

I also remember leading up to the fight that many posters here were calling a win for bautista, ponce wowed everybody.
fantasma, why'd you change your name....i didn't know it was you untill your avatar of yourself
I honestly dont know. Ive been listening to that song Fantasma by Zion a lot I think that influenced it. I put SouzaSuarez in my sig to let people know its me.
and yea DeLeon deffinately WOWED everybody, including me. I thought he would look bad early and scored a middle/later round KO.

XCaret would look bad if Bautista beats him because he had that KO in his sig for months insisting Bautista would suffer the same fate
De Leon would ko Bautista, i aggree with xcaret.

Xcaret doesn't know alot about boxing, so that is excusable.
He has KO of the year as far as I'm concerned.

This would be a great fight. I'd go with Bautista simply because he knows how to box. De Leon looks like he showed up one day with gloves and they made him a prospect.
Rey is not ready for Ponce yet. Rey needs to step up his competitions, not necessarily top 10 fighters but fighters that can at least give him a good fight.
Just don't let de Leon cross paths with either Rafa, Jhonny or Magnifico. ;)
I think he could beat Jhonny but i dont know. yes he got good reach but De leon is a southpaw if Jhonny left hook could reach DeLeon head then he is toasted. because usualy in southpaw stance sperated between the body and legs make it diffcult to left hook but he could use a jab.
Rafa i dont know i think he got a good chance in KOing him.
He got a good chance with Israel but Israel have a lot experince as well as possiable he spared with Pac that De Leon have similar style but less condition and agreesive and faster..etc. so i think it will go to Isreal because Freddi Roach nows how to deal with De Leon.
Baustitst could beat De Leon he got good straight right that is ultimate weapon to beat a southpaw.
Of course he isnt, De Leon would knock him out in 1 :tapedshut
Ponce de Leon is only going to get better, he can throw bombs, he is the futre of the featherweight division.
