How I nearly went off the rails, by Amir
Chris Osuh
BOXING sensation Amir Khan has described how he nearly went off the rails as a younger teenager.
He admits being fined for a gang attack in which a teenage girl was pelted with eggs.
The 19-year-old Olympic hero reveals in his tell-all autobiography, A Boy From Bolton, that he was among five youngsters fined £200 for affray after the incident in a park four years ago.
Last night the star's dad Shah Khan told the M.E.N. the incident had not posed a threat to Amir's fledging boxing career.
He said: "They were young kids and Amir was at the wrong place at the wrong time. We weren't happy about him getting caught up in something like this and he got a serious telling off, which he accepted.
"We've all been pleased with the way he's put the incident behind him. Which of us hasn't done something silly in our younger days?"
Amir, who is unbeaten in his professional career and faces his 10th bout in December, denies throwing eggs but says: "We all knew we were in the wrong."
He has just returned from a dream trip to see Muhammad Ali in America, where the pair discussed the teenager's recent pilgrimage to Mecca.
He is currently taking time off from training to observe the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. In his book, Amir says he is "100 per cent against terrorism" and wants to stop other youths being radicalised.
He says his upbringing has stopped him going off the right track, unlike the "stupid" London bombers.
Despite his fame, he was starstruck at meeting the cast of favourite show Coronation Street. He discusses his love of cruising in high-performance cars, describing the smash in March which has left him facing dangerous driving charges as an "accident".
Amir also talks of being pampered by his parents and reveals he plans to stay celibate until he has an arranged marriage, despite being bombarded by offers from attractive females.
He reportedly says: " I'm focusing on winning a world title - I have no time for girlfriends. I am a Muslim and it's a sin to have sex outside marriage.
"It's not like you are forced to get wed like the old days. Nowadays if you like someone and want to marry her, you tell her parents and they arrange it."
Shah told the M.E.N. Amir "isn't thinking about marriage at this stage", but added he would be willing to have an arranged union when the time came.
"At the end of the day he has to be happy," he said. "It's his life, but that's how we bring our kids up."
Speed ain't everything. You can't say "He's going to be world champ because he's fast.." most lightweights are fast. He just doesn't pace himself very well and goes out flowing flurries from the start. He'd get his ass handed to him by a decent pro.
i didnt say he was gonna be a world champ,im jus pointin out that his speed is pretty good and could do well for him,but true he would get knocked out by a decent pro,but hes only had 9 fights give him a chance, not many ppl have stepped up at 9 fights, hes got alot 2 learn
but u cant say he aint fast...

Brings me back to memories of when I almost got caught up in the world of gangster violence and drugs.... I was fourteen years old and I jaywalked.
In order to escape that world I turned myself in and voluntarily paid a fine and did community service. It was a close one, but since I was so lucky to get out of that life right now I talk to youths to warn them about those temptations so they won't take the path that I almost took.
he threw fucking eggs and they're like happy hes "left that " behind him
left what ? lmao
these fuckers need to watch American news more often so they learn what bad is
Getting caught throwing eggs, even though he claims he didn't throw one, is classed as going off the rails?
I must be a train wreck in that case.
Indeed. I was throwing eggs when I was 4 years old.
By my teens I was throwing grenades! :puppy_dog
How does a boy of nineteen write an autobiography?
Pathetic isn't it. He's hardly lived yet and he's wrote an autobiography. Selling it whilst he's well known to get some cash.
