I'm surprised no one has brought this up. When Jim Gray asked Corrales "What's next?" Corrales responded "This might be it for me." I have talked shit about Corrales in the last 24 hours but if he retires then it is a very well deserved retirement after the last two years of his career. Thats why I stated in that thread last week.......he better be planning on what he is going to do in the ring with Casamayor before he starts planning his 07 schedule and look what happened.Corrales=Self:owned:

Corrales doesn't have the chin to move up in weight really, all the 140 pound champions (including Hatton, still the lineal champ) have the dig to seriously hurt him. Hatton would give him a mauling, Witter and M'Baye would probably pick him off patiently, Urango might be vulnerable but has a lot of dig and a so far solid chin, Cotto would destroy him. The choice for Corrales is retirement or being an also ran at a higher weight (he'd still be able to make some good money that way though).

I wouldn't read too much into it. Right before that he stated that he was moving up. Obviously, I believe he will fight again. Tarver said he was going to retire after he got dominated. It is just their natural dissapointment, at that point you'll say anything. I wouldn't be surprised if he retired. Remember not too long ago he said he would be done in another year or so.
