Starting on October 16, two-time world champion Jose Luis Castillo (54-7-2, 47 KOs) will begin a five-week program at Velocity Sports Performance in West Los Angeles, the same group of medical/nutritional specialists that helped Erik Morales get in peak shape. Castillo said he informed promoter Fernando Beltran yesterday and both are enthused about the prospects of Castillo initiating a process of weight loss that will not leave him debilitated for his next fight, which will be in the 140lb division. Castillo is eyeing a ring return on January 6 or 13 against Vivian Harris, then if successful, a showdown with Ricky Hatton by the end of March or April. "I am excited the support that has been given to me by my promoters Bob Arum and Fernando Beltrán," said Castillo. "The truth is this opportunity that has ben given to me will not be wasted. It is a new beginning and I will be a champion of the world again." Castillo says he will begin training camp at the end of November in Temoaya, Mexico, training through the holidays and remain until six days before the fight with Harris.
didnt see this posted.
Hatton and Castillo will probably both lose their fights. Then they will fight. Not the why they would like to hype it out but that might be how it goes down.
castillo will pressure and smuther harris punches leaving no real power in them. castillo by ko in the 11th.
(glad no one is talking shit about weight or bringing up that subject)
this is a fantastic fight and definitely one to watch!
i am very undecided at how this fight will be decided......i'd normally think harris looking the goods early on with castillo fighting his way back after the first few rounds...........but, if harris can hold out down the stretch, he could get a decision!!
i like both fighters but i'd probably want castillo to win so he could face hatton!!
yep, i agree with you there, besides if there is anyone in the world to get that can help with gainning or losing weight it's the guy that helped Bernard Hopkins with his weight training. i think his name is Jacky Shilstone? not 100% sure about his name, but the guys track record is unparallel.
but as for fighting castillo has got harris' number.............all i gotta say is if maussa was able to handle harris' punch and harris' over aggressiveness, then what makes anyone think that castillo couldn't handle harris?
It all depends on Vivians mindset. Ofcourse if he goes in there like he did againts Maussa he is gonna get hurt.......fast. Look for Harris to box as much as possible because as soon as he trades with Castillo he will know better.
He should wait to see if that center actually even helps Erik. I'm not too convinced.

yep...i agree mic. harris will tire, and castillo will take him out of his gameplan with his constant body attack. i worry about castillo losing on cuts though...harris is a sharp, hard puncher.
Its an odd matchaup I didnt think Id see.
I could see harris giving castillo porblems,I cant see him winning tho.
Maybe something like what Gonzales-Vazquez was(at best).Castillo by late TKO.
castillo by late round tko.
castillo's inside fighting is too much for harris. although harris is strong and throws sharp accurate punches. castillo is the full package when you compare their skills against one another.
i like this match up and i think it will make an exciting fight.
