Calzaghe Vs. Lacy was the worst beating. Joe actually beat the crap out of Lacy, from all angles, everywhere in the ring, and made him look like a kid fresh out of the amature ranks.
Winky made Tito look stupid, to be sure, but didn't do nearly the damage. That was more of a boxing clinic from a fighter who knows his shit, to someone who is WAY too in love with his own right hand to ever bother learning the finer points of the sport. I think Tito's ego was probably hurt worse than Lacy's, though only because it was three times as big and thus far more easily damaged.
Single most impressive victory I've ever seen in boxing.
Please. There's been several performances in recent years better than that.
Level of opposition must be taken into consideration.
Even thought Trinidad vs Wright was one sided, it was rather the same thing round after round, Trinidad not being able to do anyhting and Wright landing the jab. That was the entire fight. Lacy-Calzaghe fight...Calzaghe took Lacy to school for 12 rounds, and ultimately knocked him down.
agreed....
I would definately go with Wright vs. Trinidad. Trinidad was suppose to be one of the best in the sport at that satge in his career, and Wright dominated him. Calzaghe win was impressive but Lacy was still a little gree and unproven. He wasn't nearly as established as Trinidad.
I agree, Lacy was unproven.

I dont know if theres any room to say one was more one-sided than the other. Both Trinidad and Lacy were made to look foolish and amateurish. Calzaghe physically beat up Lacy...moreso than Wright did Trinidad. However I thought Lacy had a better chance down the stretch (a very minimal chance) to change the fight. Calzaghe also had the comfort of not having to go overseas.
Both were excellent performances.
Both were as one sided as another as far as the scorecards were concerned, Lacy took a worse beating and got alot more humiliated, seeing as he was on the rise and Trinidad was at the end of his career.
Tito was a bigger favorite to win the fight though.
This isn't even worthy of a poll.
Trinidad got shut out, yes, but it wasn't a "beating." Tito's face looked exactly the same after the fight as it did when he entered the ring. Not one mark. Wright beat him with jabs and arm punches.
Lacy, on the other hand, took a terrible beating and serious punishment. Not really even comparable.
although the wright-trinidad fight was a one sided, totally. trinidad was out fought, smarted and out worked. he was basically picked apart and wasn't given any chance to get into the fight.
calzaghe-lacy, that was just a flat out ass whoopin. anyway you looked at it lacy was getting beaten up through and through. he had no answer what so ever, and he had nothing to fall back on too either. lacy ate harder shots and ate more of them, it was a way worse beating than what trinidad took from wright.
both were bad but i think lacy got it worse.
I agree with the other guy... although it was a "there but for the grace of God" knockdown and Lacy was being blasted all over the ring on wobbly legs, he didn't go down from the punch, he went down from a collision with Blow's shoulder. If you're going by the letter of the law, it wasn't a legit KD.
Thats like saying the shot that knocked Mike Tyson out against Lennox Lewis wasnt legit...
