I was just thinking about it, and so far, in the past few months i have been watching pointless fights and they were not entertaining as well. I usually post a lot in the forums and used to be up there in # of posts, but these days i lost interest in boxing. No Judah, Mayweather, caliber fighters fighting these days. The only exception to this was the sam peter and Toney fight. Im always excited to see Toney fight. But overall, boxing has been way too slow, and we need to get more fights going. I usually tape boxing fights, but since around May or something, my blank videos have been rotting there just waiting to be used. The contender was something that actually entertained me throughout the months. well, hopefully, the upcoming fights will excite me once again.
I. No Judah, Mayweather, caliber fighters fighting these days. .
Ok. Can we can just partition this website here. I'll say on this side where I'll use Duran Leonard I and such as examples of good fights and you stay on the other with your judah vs mayweather nonsense.
People complain that boxers today aren't active enough, and it's true. It's partially the fighters fault, but a lot of it also has to do with how the fights are organized. There are basically two big networks in the USA for the big name fighters (HBO, Showtime) and they have a limited number of fights they can show in a year. There's so much work that has to be done to promote and organize such a big event. All of the fighters have to compete to get a date on whichever network they're signed to. So, that leaves some fighters wanting to fight, but having to wait most of the year to do it. Boxing needs better coverage, and then you'll see the top guys fighting more often.
I aggree. But they can also take less money and fight on spanish channels that have regular boxing as well as espn. But when i say they get less money, of course their opponet wont be as tough but still they work their craft and get better and keep their name in the newspapers.
Lots of fighters today should have fought more, Margarito, Mayweather, Rocky, Taylor, and on and on. Castillo is probably the last fighter that fought regularly, before the fiasco at the weigh in. Chavez used to fight like every month just to stay busy and keep his skills sharp, we need more fighters to do this.

I have lost a bit of interest over the last month. I didnt even bother watching the rebroadcast of the Barerra fight or the Arce fight. I wasnt really interested in the last couple weeks of the contender either, although watching K9 take apart Bravo was exciting.
In all seriousness, I would actually like to get a boxing program going within the next 5 years or so...I
I wouldn't want any money from the fighters if they made it big, would just like them to put back into the system to help the other kids
fighters care 2 much about money today, they dont give a fuck about the fans, the sport, theyre legacy, they want fat cash n thats it,n that aint gonna help the sport atall
for example,margarito/floyd situation,i dont like margarito n i dont want this to sound like im biggin him up,but floyd knows 1000s of ppl wanted to see that fight, even though margarito wouldnt deserve it,it would make good entertainment and its what some ppl wanna see, even i would wanna see that fight, jus to see the margarito fans get shut up,but no,8 mill aint enough, and its decisions like this, not jus this 1,which makes boxin borin 4 us,cause we dont give a fuck about the money,we jus want good fights
Only reason you say Margarito hasn't earned his shot is because he never got a chance to fight the known fighters as Baldomier did. I can understand maybe you hate Margarito fans but to down play what margarito has done is lame.

You're probably just burnt out with boxing. It happens. And theirs been great fights all year, if not great then interesting fights.

except mayweather and judah right? cause u know they are still fighting... right?
lol. and if u wanna see a good fight, watch showtime on october 7th. ull interest in boxing will be at its height once u witness FOTY 2006 live.
and basically the whole rest of the year should be packed with exciting fights. and just about every major fight has lived up to its expectations.
taylor-wright exceeded all expectations and is one of my new favorite fights
Toney-peter had an awsome first 6 rounds and a very good last 6 rounds
Hatton-Collazo was pretty sweet
Pacman-morales was this year
so was gatti-baldomir and judah-baldomir
and so was the barrera juarez card was amazing (except for barrera-juarez...)
i dont see what ur complaining about. ur not gonna get a great fight if u watching some shlubs on ESPN.
same thing with any other sport. Ur not gonna enjoy urself watching the GREENBAY PACKERS play the OAKLAND RAIDERS. and ur not gonna enjoy urself watching the ROYALS play the DODGERS.
If u watch the highly promoted fights, ur gonna get a great fight everytime, and thats what we've gotten all this year with the exception of a sparse few.
i've really enjoyed myself this year personally. i guess thats why i consider myself a boxing fan.
:poke:
agree, boxing sucks these days
I am thinking about becoming a police officer, arresting these young hoods that look like potential fighters, and giving them the choice of becoming fighters or get shot in the head...
Seriously, you go down to the ghettos and there are some built S.O.B. down there, they just need a little direction :cop:
lol...and they won't complain about money.
