Dont know if this has already been posted but they will fight different guys in a double header. I guess that pretty much means Floyd will fight Baldy which Im ok with since so many now seem to think that Baldy will give him alot of trouble and can even beat him.
For all of you who talk all this shit about Margarito, he better step up and fight someone good. Anyone can call out Floyd but do you fight the elite guys to get to Floyd. Callazo, Zab, Quintana, Williams, and a bunch of other great fighters will fight Margarito.
Last we heard he was going to fight sorry ass Cosme Rivera. If he does that then I dont want to hear any more shit about Margarito because his resume is a joke and Rivera is another joke. All he has to do is beat one good guy and then people will want to see him and everyone will demand that the top guys fight him. Rivera has 9 losses but unlike Baldy, he has had alot of losses recently and was just KO by Zab in the 3rd round a few fights ago and was dropped twice in the 1st round. Thats not good enough.
Floyd fights Baldy in November. Mosley will definatly have a tuneup with Floyd and no one else will fight Floyd in Febuary. Floyd said the whole time that all Margarito has to do is beat someone. If Margarito beats any of those guys that I named then Floyd will have to fight him or he will look like a fool.
Hopfully Cotto will fight someone decent but since its a double header then chances are he's fighting a bum. If anything he should be the one that fights Rivera since its his 1st fight but Cotto definatly needs to step it up because people were ripping Hatton but Cotto is starting to be another Hatton
This sucks. If they're in a doubleheader, you can bet the opposition is going to be WEAK mandatory contenders. We're talking Margarito vs. Rivera type of shit here.
Well, he didnt fight them...Hatton's resume is not quality, He fought a 35 yr old KT, and a 40 year old Vince Phillips. He had a very difficult time with Magee(who is mediocre). He does deserve credit for beating Tackie the way he did, but Tackie is also a mediocre fighter.
Miguel Cotto's resume blows Hatton's out of the water. Im not saying that Cotto would demolish Hatton (it would be a difficult fight for both), but Cotto's resume is more superior.
Corley(former world champion),Bailey(former world champion) Abdulaev(solid Gold medalist), Ndou, SOsa, Ceballos(former world champion), Bazan, Jukko- all of which are solid opposition. And Cotto beat Maussa in a far more impressive performance than Hatton did, He demolished Sosa, Demolished Ceballos, and Bailey. He also has beat Several undefeated fighters- Maussa, Torres, Paulie, Pinto, and I also count Abdulaev(who although had one loss, had never really been beat because he was robbed).
Im sorry but realistically speaking, Hatton's resume is not as impressive as Cotto.
hes record on a whole does sound good but he hasnt had a carear defining fight yet and all talk of him beating the top men is a bit premature as of this moment
when he dispatches of a top 3 challenger then ill start beleiving the stuff about cotto
on ricky hattons dvd released just after the tszyu fight it had some archived interviews of sky sports news on it and a few interviews had ricky saying how disapointed he was that sharmba pulled out etc
interesting in the same year (2002) ricky said that hed love to fight kostya cause he knows exactly how to beat him

If they were good opponents, people would have some idea who they are. The best opponents Hatton fought were Sharmba Mitchell leftovers...
you do no that in 2002 hatton had a fight with sharmba mitchel fall through?
also in the asme year he hada fight with vivian harris fall through
even tho they might of been mitchel left overs he still tried to get mitchel in the ring
Prove Judah/Quintana/Williams want Margarito...please. I've never heard Tony's name come out of Zabs mouth, and if it did he probably asked for bookoo books thinkin he is Floyd.
As for Williams, get outta here with that bs. Williams has beaten no one better than what Cintron did when he faced Tony...and so much good that win did for Tony. If you demean his win over Cintron you have no choice but to demean a possible win over Williams.
And if Marg needs to fight Rivera to keep his title, that's fine. That's what happens in boxing and frankly, that 4th tier WBO belt is the only smidget of leverage Tony has.
Williams looks like a much better prospect (to me at least) than Cintron ever did. He has many more tools than did Cintron, who at that point was pretty much a come forward power puncher.
I feel like a Margarito/Williams fight would be very even.

glad to see a potential Margarito-Cotto fight getting into position, (that title is misleading btw), it would be more exciting than Margarito-Mayweather..
good one. people do know who they are just not as many american fans know who they are.
Yeah, i know alot of Hattons opponents and most of them were decent at best.
Magee was probably his toughest opponent before Zoo, and Hatton didnt have an easy time with him.
After 27 fights, Cotto's resume blew Hattons away. (when he was at 27 fights.)
