Martin Castillo just lost a 10th round TKO to now 8-0 Nobuo Nashiro in Japan. He was cut from the second round on and the cut, caused by a punch, got worse and worse, so they stopped it.
From what I've heard, Castillo was ahead on one card, behind on one other and the third judge had it even. But Nashiro, according to some ringside observers, looked really tired.
Castillo only had one previous loss to Machado, was winning that fight, controversial technical decision because of cuts, and now another loss because of cuts. He always gets cut man damn, even in a lot of his wins. Im looking forward to a rematch tho, and I wanna see this fight.Castillo was also cut over the left eye in the seventh round of his second fight with another Japanese, Ishihara, but managed to win by UD.
Against Ricardo Vargas, he was also cut twice, but he got a Techinical Decision win in the 6th.
Ignorant post, through out history they have been one of the top fighters in the lower weight divisions.
Ive been to Japan, Boxing isnt all that popular there, most aspire to watch K-1/UFC/Pride. The average japanese person doesnt care much about boxing. The amount of japanese who are in MMA are en masse compared to the amount who box. Which makes sense anyway given the traditional fighting styles that the japanese have fought over the last 1,000 years
dumb@$$ excuse again! he was stopped by an inexperience japanese kid. :D
btw the cuts was caused by a punch. and the jap was keep punching till m. castillo's face was full of blood.
yeah he was ahead on the scorecards but his face was a bloody mess.
on fight news they have the scores up and it was a draw at the time of the stoppage, so they said.
they also said that it was a very exciting fight, lots of action as the japanese fighter was coming forward and castillo was a slick counter puncher. a fight worth seeing again.

MACHADO not Mercado....fukin IDIOT!!
lol
Im a huge Castillo fan too, hopefully he gets the rematch which it sounds like he deserves. Close fight, stopped on cuts = unfinished business.
Ye ahis last fight with Munoz surprised me because he beat Munoz so easily the first time they fought and he dropped him a couple times. I dont think Castillo is slippin though I think Munoz was better prepared and this Japanese guy got lucky.
EASY THERE HEAVY METAL DICK, you knew who i was refering too. Machado, it was a slip of a name. happends all the time when i'm deep in the bottle, blah..........
either way the poor bastard needs a rematch to get his belt back, Castillo is the man, he's one of my favorite fighters to watch, i've never seen him in a dull fight. he is a worthy champion and deserves another shot at getting his title back. period.

Brief translation:
Nashiro was crowned world champion. Fight was stopped 1 minute and 2 seconds into the tenth round. Castillo almost dropped Nashiro with a left hook in the first and took a lot of damage in the last moments of that round. Says Nashiro fought very determined. He opened the cut on Castillo with a strong right hand. The cut got worse as teh fight went on so the ref stopped it. After the fight Castillo said, " I dont complain about the refs decision to stop the fight because of my wound, Nashiro is a brave fighter who deserves this victory."
And thats a very brief translation. I hope we get a rematch!!
Are you blind? oh yes you are... He got stopped on cuts and was ahead on the scorecards, thats not called beating, its called luck.
team penoy never stop talking shit, they forget the numerous time fighters like Lopez, Zaragoza, Larios have gone to Japan and came home as winners. Team penoy love to talk shit, and yet everybody else won't say shit. But i say somthing negative about the mideget pacquiao and i got almost all his fans and haters attack me.
I'd like to hear somone tell Katz, "enough already with the lust for Filipino fighters, what is it with you and filipino fighters" but them bitchs wont say that cause they are pacquiaos groupies too.

I think if the japanese actually cared more about boxing, you would see them dominating alot of lower weight classes.
Ignorant post, through out history they have been one of the top fighters in the lower weight divisions.
that sucks, i like castillo a lot, be he's been struggling a tad bit, at least the last time i saw him fight, even though he won it was a hard win for him.
sucks though, the first time he lost was due to a cut and he was winning the fight. i think it was mercado, castillo got a cut on his forehead and they called the fight in mercados' favor, poor bastard, well, maybe he'll be more aggressive next time he enters the ring........
castillo is solid and the is no doubt that he will be back.
it's been a rough year for a good handful of mexican fighters.

From what I've heard lots of fighter don't wanna fight in Japan and Thailand because of biased judges, Doctors, ... Now, I'm not saying the fight shouldn't have been stopped 'cause I haven't seen it but who knows.
Don't know about a Interview.. just about a rematch clause in the contract so Castillo will most likely get it..
That smart that they had a contract clause for a remtach if Castillo lost. Im sure Arum will put this on one of his undercard ppv so so can see the fight.
