Winky Wright before Trinidad?

Winky destroyed Tito when they fought. Tito won maby 1 round. But if they had fought a few years before, Tito could have stopped winky. I doubt it. Winky could have beat Tito at anytime of his career after the Vargas fight. Tito to one dimensional , outcome would have been the same. Any superior boxer could have beat Tito. DLH already showed that to the world.

WInky started his walk down the opponent style vs Vargas and lost(really won) and havent lost since. I think Winky does take opponents lightly at times. But he rises when its a big fight. He will be ready for Jermain Green Taylor I thought the vargas fight was close, the nod going to the undefeated champ, which makes sense. I scored it 114-114. Vargas came on in the late rounds.

i've always said, many people jumped on winkys bandwagon after his fight with vargas and this thread is proof. im not a fan of winkys but i remember his fights from back in the day and all taylor has to do is fight his fight and he will win. winky is over-rated.

Oh yeah Trinidad is really old and waaay out of prime.Granted he should have on more fight before facing a guy like Winky after being off for 2 years but I will tell you this Winky would beat Trinidad and nearly shut him out 9 out of every 10 times no matter when........The one time tito would win is when he got lucky and hurt Winky and was able to get him out of there which is very hard to do.....styles make fights and Winky has the style to destroy a more or less one dimensional slugger like Tito........I.E. scored the Vargas fight close D for Vargas it wasnt even remotely close to a robbery. For Taylor to beat Wright he is gonna have to fight him like Vargas did.Although Taylor has more power he still needs to follow up with power combos.

I haven't followed his career because of his KO output. It's hard to like a guy or even know him just because he is a good boxer he has to be exciting. Now, I am looking following the career of Rock Allen and Joel Julio. They are exciting fighters.

I am live in St Pete where he is from.......I have been following him for quite a while but either way you were hard pressed to see him on TV.He has been since he got fucked up by Vasquez a much better defensive fighter.Try to get you hands on the Vargas fight I think he did well in that fight and should have won.He is boring to alot of people but I find him masterful and enjoy watching him fight.He has been getting better and better the past 5 years. :boxing:

Is there anybody here thats followed Winkys career from earlier then Sat Trinidad?? i heard he wasnt all that great....its like one fight he turns into some defensive monster....i cant say cause i really only seen him fight Trinidad/Soliman etc.... He beat Mosley twice and most think he was robbed against a prime Vargas and alot of people think he was robbed against Simon. The Taylor fight will prove alot but everyone knew about his defense before the Tito fight. No matter what, you cant take that from him
