Will is he?
I'm thinking of getting tickets to New York for this fight and watch Castillo get KTFO...
However, He might try and cheat the scales again, and will waste all my money. Fuck Castillo.
that shit wont work against castillo, that looks like shit going back wards, i've said many time he needs to correct this and they still havn't, and if they don't by the time castillo gets to him he will be on his back
What shit>? He also exhibited his ability to fight while backing up against Pinto and Sosa...catching each of them with some savage counters. One of which sent Pinto to the canvas.
Cotto/Castillo would be a great match up in which will end in a KO or TKO. I think that both of them would be facing their strongest opponent if they fight eachother. Cotto is stonger than any opponent that Castillo has faced and Castillo is stronger than any fighter Cotto has faced.
corrales chin failed him with castillo, but i don't know if cotto is stronger then corrales, and cesar soto was a very strong fighter castillo fought back in the day

now ur talkin out of your ass...havent u seen Cotto against Abdulaev or against N'dou? He knows how to fight going backwards.

what (non self-absorbed) penalties do bs posters think castillo should receive?
i believe a 1 year suspension and a reasonable fine is fair. castillo obviously showed regret for not being able to make weight but crucifying him for it is unneccessary.
1 year sounds about right.
As far as the cotto fight that would pretty much guarantee that the fight happens @147,since cotto said hes moving up after this year.
its not an excuse saying he "gave up" cause thats what he really did and your making a big deal out of it.
let me ask you something son...if a duck wears a snorkel and dives off a dock into water...does that mean he's not crazy?
seriously, wtf are you talking about, are you acting or are you really ------d. you even admit he gave up in the middle rounds and thats exactly what ive been saying, wat fkn excuse are you talking about????
i'm saying he lost straight up. he was outworked and discouraged in the middle rounds. that's what i meant by "gave up".
Good Question If Castillo Gets His License Taken Away From Him For Like 1 Year He Might Get Into "Worst Shape" And Probably Gain Too Much Weight
And Who Knows What Happens Next
cotto may have power, but if you havn't noticed that man can't fight worth shit going backwards, castillo will have him going backwards all night long
castillo defeated the pretty girl and many others... disrespecting a fighter cause he couldn't make weight while bringing fear into his opponet so now you trash him? you were never a fan of his to begin with
i think you're making an unsupported assumption.
You're right, Castillo will come to the weigh in weighing 145 pounds. So Cotto won't knock him out because Castillo won't fight him.
Fuck Castillo.
“I’m mortified and embarrassed,”
“It’s inexcusable. There’s no explanation for what happened.”
-Bob Arum
Castillo is so fucking overrated, who has he ever beat that makes him so special? He didn't beat Corrales because he cheated.
He got a gift against Casamayor, just ask IWATCHBOXING for the highlights of the fight.

sad excuse? you dont agree he gave up in the middle rounds? ok? he also started giving up in the first rubio fight...just stfu already, your hating on a 22 year kid who was back then about 19.
easy killer...a sorry excuse is a sorry excuse. i'm not hating on him...i'm hating on the fact that you're making excuses for a fight that needed none.
you're quick on the old "hating" tip aren't ya?

the neveda state athletic commision are crooks, and i would be surprised if they fine him and suspend his, the nvsac are crooks in power
and 250 thoudand dollars is way to much money, we arn't talking about basketball players here and castillo didn't fight, so how could they charge him that much money? doesn't make sense
Castillo facing sanctions!
The 4.5 pounds he failed to lose could be expensive for Jose Luis Castillo. New NSAC executive director Keith Kizer is currently deciding if sanctions are forthcoming and Castillo could be fined as much as $250,000 by the Nevada Commission plus be suspended or have his boxing license revoked. Meanwhile, Corrales, who lost a $1.2 million purse, stated yesterday that he is considering suing Castillo. Castillo's promoter Bob Arum put his losses at $1 million, while Corrales' promoter Gary Shaw estimated his losses to be in the hundreds of thousands. In addition, SHOWTIME network had significant penalties written into Castillo's contract, should he not make weight.
Article says "could be suspended or have his boxing license revoked." so who knows...i dont know how long it could last....because the fight is for November right?

I gues it depends, mostly, on what the NSAC does regarding his license. I'm getting the feeling from everything said that he's probably looking at a 1 year suspension. They want to set an example for fighters who sign a weight contract and are unwilling or unable to make that weight.
Yeah, I agree.
I hope he gets banned for life.
This fight was supposed to be SO big man..
I had so many people coming over for it...
Fuck Castillo.

Probably not, we will have to wait for the results of the boxing commision's inquiry. He might get his license suspended for quite sometimes. :)
I'd rather see him go in with someone that isn't handicapped(weight drained when he isn't) and see him get KTFO.
He used to be my favorite fighter...:(
