Floyd watches Oscar dismantle Mayorga, Wants DLH in September!!

Like it or not, Antonio Margarito is at least the top 3 in the Welterweight division. Does he deserve his shot at Floyd? Absoultely. Floyd Mayweather at 147 is NOT the Floyd Mayweather at 140. In case you haven't noticed his two fights at Welter happened to be against two other former 140 lb fighters. Antonio is big as all hell, can punch, and is going to make Mayweather work his fucking ass off. If you can't recognize this then you can't see much. Once again, if Mayweather does not fight Hatton, De La Hoya, or Margarito in his next outing...he IS DUCKING ANTONIO MARGARITO. or he just doesnt see the point. floyd has nothing to gain from fighting a mediocre boxer like margarito.

The guy is a good fighter and a top welterweight. Plain and simple. For Floyd to so openly disrespect Margarito, say he's easy work but pass up his biggest payday of his career against him kind of says it all. But I do understand he's trying to get a fight with Oscar. You have to look at the big picture. 50 years from now people will be talking about fighters like De La Hoya and Mayweather. You always see these garbage threads "what if x and y fought at this weight? what would happen?" Well, now, there is a real life opportunity for two legends to face each other in the ring. Its not so much about what has Mayweather done to earn a shot at 147, its more about the fact that Mayweather is P4P #1 and already a hall of famer and he has the chance to face another hall of famer. Its a legendary fight waiting to be made. Margarito will be waiting for Mayweather if he beats Oscar (and even if he doesn't), there is no rush for Margarito to fight Floyd right now. After the Oscar fight, Floyd will have nobody to fight except Hatton or Margarito, either of which would shut a lot of people up. In the meantime, Margarito should be looking for another top contender (maybe a title holder?) to fight at 147 instead of a taxi driver like Gomez. He won't be avoided if fighters are getting offered big money to fight him, provided there isn't a bigger payday out there. be it as it be, truth be told they will also talk about how antonio margarito had to wait so long before mayweather and other world champions gave him a title shot, right now mayweather and company are making the legend of antonio margarito even bigger. plus when/if delahoya v. mayweather fight it means little since mayweather is not the best fighter at 147 and has yet to prove it after seeing delahoya in with mayorga it would be a very, very bad decision for him to fight margarito in this part of his career, too much of a war that delahoya would have to go through if he fights margarito

DLH would give Mayweather a run for his money let's hope that doesn't involve literally running. i do, though, think that he learned his lesson from that fight with trinidad.

I still harbor reservations about DLH in big time PPV fights. After he stuunk up the joint against Trinidad(i had dlh winning, but a crappy fight nonetheless) and Hopkins i refused to get a DLH PPV fight ever again. This dismantling of a C level club fighter won't change my mind.

I dont think he is saying that beating DLH beating Mayorga would mean he would beat mayweather. His point is that watching DLH last night you still see his speed/power. What we didnt know was how much speed does dlh still have. Now we know DLH has still got it and it all depends on how you feel about how they matchup in a fight. Personally I think DLH size/speed/power/jab will give him a shot in a fight with mayweather especially at 154 Correct. Floyd easy UD over this version of Oscar who weighs in at 153.5 with jeans on? No. Floyd can be walked down by Oscar if he was walked down by Castillo. Mayorga's 'amatuer' style has been effective in the past. Regardless of the wayhe throws punches, he has been able to make them land to get several big wins and therefore was rightfully perceived to be a legit threat.
