I was watching "In This Corner With Russ Anber" and he analyzing the 2 fighters and he said that there is a good possibility that we could see them fighting in the near future, if Gatti beats Baldomir.(which will happen)
If this fight does happen who do you think is favoured to win?
He fought on PPvs though i don't know if you mean he is the headliner or not, the juuko fight was definately a PPV i have every single cotto fight on my pc bar one early very hard to find one.
I assumed that headlining PPV was what it meant, that is why I responded to it.

You just got 100% of my attention! You got almost every Cotto fight?!
Upload Cotto Vs Bailey... can you? If you can just PM when ever iight...
Or if not Cotto Vs Juuko
Obviously you have not seen him fight. He has not had a PPV, secondly, he does not fight nobodies, unless you call Sosa, Ceballos, Bazan, N'dou, and Jukko "nobodies". I guess Mayweather is on the same boat, bc he too fought these fighters.
Emmanuel Steward said it at Cotto's last fight "Cotto has the most impressive 25(now 26) fight record in boxing"He fought on PPvs though i don't know if you mean he is the headliner or not, the juuko fight was definately a PPV i have every single cotto fight on my pc bar one early very hard to find one.
For Cotto moving up to 147 then fighting Margarito as his first fight or so is stupid. Margarito is huge and has had many fights there. Gatti on the other hand would be a good fight,as for Castillo. I hope a Cotto Vs Castillo Happens by the end of this year. As for Mayweather i don't know. We will see who he wants to fight after April 8 vs Judah. That fight is stupid! No need for that fight. Mayweather could've fought some one better!
Neither is Gatti or Mayweather.
Gatti and Mayweather have had recent fights at 140. I don't think that Margarito or Cintron have had a fight at 140. Corrales has not expressed interest in fighting at 140, Castillo has and Cotto/Castillo was well on its way until Corrales was hurt. If Cotto moves to 147 which he will, his best bet is to fight a small 147 like Gatti, not a huge 147 like Margarito or Cintron. Margarito looks like a middleweight for God sakes.
Gatti couldn't even KO branco for crying out loud
GATTI IS A BUM :D
Cotto brawls he wins,
Cotto boxes he wins,
Gatti has no chance he is slow, has overrated power because he comes in at 160 and he can't box to save his life.
I wouldn't go to the extent of saying that Gatti is a bum, he is a fighter that has power and has heart, the difference between him and Cotto is that Cotto has TALENT and can box. Gatti brawls, and when someone uses a jab against him, he cant seem to get out of the way. I think that Gatti has a punchers chance, but that chance is slim. Cotto will stop Gatti, he would probably make Gatti's face a mess.

I give Cotto credit for his resume but he is fighting similar opposition. Guys who struggle against champions. To answer your question other than Hatton and Mayweather he could fight: Corrales, Castillo, Margarito, I wouldn't mind seeing him fight Joel Julio or even Kermit Cintron. But you never hear anyone mention any of those names. After Maussa got the belt from Harris, he showed interest in a rematch. And this Paul guy why in the hell is he fighting him?
None of these are in Cotto's weight Class. Cotto cannot afford to drop weight, although he may go up to 147. And for the Cotto/Castillo fight, that fight was going to happen after Castillo/Corrales III, it would have been set for June, but the Castillo/Corrales fight was delayed and other plans had to be made.
Gatti has his power and Cotto has that suspect chin. If Cotto boxes he can easily tear Gatti a new one but if he decides to exchange with Gatti he can eaisly be put to sleep. I'll pick Cotto on the fact that he will box gatti to death but if Gatti scores a KO I wouldn't be that surprised.
i completely agreee with you....im at the same point you are...if cotto boxes smart he wins, if he stands in there gets put to sleep
Cotto busts up Gatti and stops him in the mid-late rounds. He's better at pretty much every facet in the game.
USA, nice sig...Equilibrium was a good movie.
I'd put my money on Gatti in this fight, simply because i think he has more power, can take a huge beating and still come out swinging, and its about time cotto loses. Sure Cotto can box but if he gets in close with Gatti, hes over.

Like what macho stated before, he has only 26 fights, you'll see him fight superstars soon enough lol.
Like? Cotto is still kind of green and should not be fighting Mayweather. Hatton has not expressed intrest in Cotto, But Cotto has. Hatton's camp has stated, that "fights with Cotto and Mayweather are inevidable and will happen soon enough" but his daddy wants him to have several fights in the US before he fights Mayweather or COtto. Also, Cotto has 26fights not 40. He has the best 26 fight resume in boxing. Give the guy credit for fighting solid opposition.

i would love for this fight to happen. but at this stage of his career, gatti cannot afford to lose another big fight, or any other fight.
but this is a big fight were gatti has a legit chance of winning.
If this fight does happen and Gatti does lose it would still be a big pay day for him to go out on IMO.
Cotto P U N I S H E S gatti and ends his career. like pbf says, EASY WORK.
simply put, gatti could never win a fight w/ cotto in the same ring, too much talent and skill. he'd bust up gatti's right side all day and stay on the outside for the first half, then when gatti's favoring his body and going for the kill like he does, he gets caught upstairs, BAM, miguelito lowers the hammer. once again, easy work.
Hopefully Cotto will stop fighting meaningless fights. I mean if he does fight Gatti and beats him, what will that prove? Gatti has alot to gain and Cotto has nothing. He needs to look past these C class fighters and start fighting some A class fighters.
I guess you define meaningless fights as fights with top contenders, and mandatory challengers? :(
