The best HW right now

Would any of you guys be interested in a bet? the bet is that Juan Carlos Gomez beats any of these so called main men, ie James Toney, Lamon Brewster, Chris Byrd etc. it could be a long wait of course.

James Toney Brewster has accomplished the most in his last handful of fights, has a couple of good wins, blah blah... If Brewster and Toney ever fought Brewster would be dismantled and beaten up. Brewsters still punches too wide, gets hit too often, and hasn't fought anyone with a defense as tight as Toneys. The handspeed issue would show up too. The only guy in the division I see beating Toney is possibly Wlad...based on physical properties alone. I hate to admit it but it'd be a big hill to climb for Toney. I'll be interested to see what Ibragimov does too...he looks pretty impressive to me, but he's getting old.

THis is why Wlad gets hated on. WHat kind of stupid fucking post is this? Oh... Brewster didn't beat him... Wlad punched himself out.... despite that being something to take into account when boxing... but it doesn't mean Brewster beat him! Quickly, diminish his win further then let's go back to the Klit Kave.

I will like to go with James Toney. I do not think anyone in this forum can put up a good argument, that any other heavyweight is more skillful and has better ring generalship than James Toney. The only problem I have with Toney is he has problems with boxers with a little speed because he's lazy, beginning from middleweight. Mike Nunn was pitching a shut out till he was knocked out. Roy Jones was able to pitch a shut out and he lost 2 fights to Montell Griffin. What these boxers have in common is they don't stand in your face and fight they give angles. Thats why I feel Toney may have problems with Rahman, not because Rahman is a better fighter put Rahman fight froms angles when he's at his best. These are the type of fights where true boxing fans say "styles makes fights"

It is CLEAR that the best 3 heavies are Toney / Wlad / Brewster (order of votes) IMO: Toney loses to Wlad Wlad loses to Brewster Brewster loses to Toney So who's the best? :cool:

I picked Toney, because he is by far the best fighter in the division. I'm not 100% sure he's the best Heavyweight, though. I don't know that he's big enough to beat the larger HW's. Wlad has no chin. Brewster laid him out, so I don't see how he could be leading this poll. I'd love to see Lamon do big things, but he still has quite a bit to prove. This division sucks, and none of these guys will go down in the history books as a great other than "Lights Out". He won't go down as a great HW, but as a great fighter for what he did in his climb from Middleweight to Heavyweight. I think Brewster's got the best shot at a legacy, but unless some guys step up in weight or some young guys come into the picture, it would be hard to even call it a legacy. The lack of decent competition and the fact that undeserving challengers keep getting title shots makes this the worst crop of HW's I can recall, and it doesn't look to get any better.

What is telling is what all of the fighters that he voted for have in common. If there's still someone who hasn't pegged his agenda on these boards, then that ought to clue them in. ...ha ha I didn't see this post but had commented on noticing the same thing. He tries to call people out for being racist when he is the biggest one on the boards.

I am assuming that Rustam Ibragimov is actually Sultan Ibragimov? Did anyone notice that somehow Bloodshed voted numerous times? How can you vote more then once? It only lets me vote one time! ...Yeah and all his votes went to the black heavies and none to the white heavies. Coincidence???? I think not.

Theres little doubt in my mind, that when he's well prepared and on his game and focused , Juan Carlos Gomez could beat any current heavyweghts.

BTW, I voted for both, Brewster / Wlad. I would also probably favor Brewster in a rematch :-(
