Scott Harrison defended his WBO featherweight title for the eighth time with a points victory over tough Australian Nedal Hussein in Glasgow.
The 28-year-old was handed a 116-111 116-111 117-111 decision by the judges.
Harrison bossed the early stages of the fight and put Hussein down in the fifth but the Australian rocked the Scot in the 11th with a flurry of punches.
The Scot's lack of focus needlessly let Hussein's hits find their mark but he held on bravely to win.
Harrison will now target a mandatory showdown with number one contender Joan Guzman.
"It was more awkward than I thought it would be," Harrison told ITV Sport.
"Once I put him down in the fifth, I saw he was stronger than I expected.
"But it was a good fight for the fans - they got 12 rounds of boxing."
I think we would all love to see that especially in Britain(20% would want him to win with the rest praying he gets ktfo!)
I doubt it'll happen but if it does I reckon that would be a very painful night for Harrison :boxing:
Just thought i'd take a less than serious jab at you Scots.
I really prefer Alex Arthur to Scott Harrison, a fight at Super Feather between the two would be interesting.
Sorry man but you know we don't have a sense of humour about ourselves! I actually think the comic genius Anorak is a Scot in disguise judging by how upset he was to lose that tenner :D Only kiddin m8 u ain't that bad!
Arthur was actually at ringside tonight so you never know but I hope he doesn't try that because Arthur would be a step down imo, he's only just won a European title and was exposed by Gomez, while he may have improved since then I still don't think it would be a good idea reputation wise as it would be seen as him running from the featherweights and taking the easier option.
Good to see you say that m8 but I know some people actually think that what you said is true so I just had to ask ;)

Harrison vs Polo was an awful decision, but apart from that Harrison seems to have crudely defeated most of his oppposition.

I just couldn't ignore this gem:
I'm not a big Harrison fan as most people know but I don't have a clue where you get that from, Harrison's had one dodgy decision go his way and your talking as if it happens all the time! The guys a limited boxer and may be a complete wanker outside the ring but still, please stop the stupid comments unless you can back them up with some facts, I think you'll be hard pushed though, the Polo decision we agree on, what else is there?
Oh and I don't care what anyone says, Joe Mangel is da man ;)
My tongue was firmly in my cheek with that comment.

Hometown decisions are more a Scottish thing, or more specifically a Scott Harrison thing.

too difficult for you guys to think of some slurs at this time...........because we seem to be kicking your ass at most sports for the time being, thus how can you bag the winning nation.....
ok....ashes is short term, rugby a one hit wonder, etc.....we have been very dominant in most sports recently........do you remember what Bosnich did at against Tottenham at white harte lane?

We really have to think of some more imaginative slurs for the nation of Australia.
Not that Pom really seems to mean much when referring to the British.

yes mate, convict joke is pretty much null and void nowadays, although it still hurts a bit sometimes....
we've done pretty well for a country as large and diverse as ours..........

You just have to love Harold Bishop. Up there with Britain's own Ken Barlow for greatest soap institution in the world.
If your ancestorscame to Australia that recently it basically renders the old "convict" joke null and void. Damn shame.

Anyone who can return from the dead gets my vote.
Funnily enough, I live about 5 mins from Kylie's parents. I drive past her street occasionally, and when she returned home with her cancer scare, the press were everywhere.
