Post who the best fighter you have ever seen is and then post your age so it will give your pick a little background.
The best fighter I have ever seen is Floyd Mayweather Jr. I am 22.
Don't know that I have any one pick, but probably Henry Armstrong (I haven't seen Ray Robinson at welter, and Ray wasn't the best middleweight of all time, so I can't fairly rate him). Whitaker is right up there, too. Monzon was impressive, as was Sanchez. Joe Louis and Ali were right up there.
I'm 37
I saw both Manny Pac, and James Toney in the Gym at Wild Card and Oscar DeLa Hoya walking the streets with some blond.
On TV the best fighter I have ever seen is Ray Robinson
On TV live the best fighter I have ever seen is wow hmmmm uhhh Sweet Pea, The Hawk, uhh Duran at lightweight, Pretty Boy. Its hard to say. Roy Jones Jr is still the easy answer. I'm 28
I got to watch Ali train when he was 24-25 yrs old. I was just a kid and Ali was about the same size as my dad, but much more impressive looking!
The best modern fighters I've seen on TV in the ring as far as peaks would have to be a young Tyson or Camacho. Tyson was the perfect blend of speed, power, and skills and at his best the most dominating fighter ever. Camacho was so fast with his hands and had such great footwork that he could literally make a champion look like a 80 yr old grandpa. I saw him twirl a fighter in the ring like a top before his Ramirez title fight. Too bad they didn't have any discipline to maintain their training and focus.
If you've ever seen any footage of Robinson or Pep, well, those were the best.
hmm
Roy Jones Jr. 19 yrs old.
Also some other notables I would say are De La Hoya and Bernard Hopkins. I've seen footage of older fighters who I thought were quite good as well like Mike McCallum, Roberto Duran and Tommy Hearns.
Ah yes, and James Toney.
Prime Tyson, Floyd Mayweather Jr, Roy Jones Jr, Sugar ray lenorad, Sweat pea, and I also love watching Oscar De la Hoya fight. I think these guys are/were larger than life in the ring and are/were just amazing to watch.
the way mike beat fighters was just amazing, and floyds skill just leaves me in awe.
im still dying to see pernell a fight, i cant find his fights anywhere
Ali was the best I ever saw and I got to see him on free TV every other month! I'm 41
Duran, Leonard, Hagler , Hearns, Holmes, Foreman, Frazier.. all for free That loyal audience of home viewers made all of them superstars the likes of which the current era cannot hope to produce.
