Is the guy nuts or what? surely he couldnt of been THAT overconfident surely? On that programme or documentary thing that was on channel four here in UK, u can see the Prince wasnt taking Barrera seriously one little bit & it was as if he knew 100% that Barrera would be KOd no probs. Emanuel stewards said he only worked with the Prince five days before Barrera & that the Prince refused to do any sparring,
but i just cant understand it, Barrera was better than any he had fought previousy, look at his record. and when they were rivals at superbantamweight the Prince didnt exactly push for that fight, i really cant work out y he didnt train for this fight, he hardly trained at all ffs.
I was a Hamed fan. In fact, he was one of the few boxers I watched before becoming a true fan. However, Hamed got completely dominated in that fight. The closest you could score it was 116-111(after the point deduction to Barrera) or 9 rounds to 3. This fight was a virtuoso performance by Barrera and it certainly made me a fan since this was the first Barrera fight that I saw.
hamed never avoided "the barreras of the division"
he even said after the morales-barrera 1 fight that he thought barrera won and wanted to fight him instead , if hamed fought morales it would be over in a few rounds hamed by ko , morales wouldnt no wat to do with hamed
Naz Hamed of around 94-95 would of anihilated Barrera, there's a reason why Barrera was scared shitless to give him a shot. Naz trained VERY hard back then, around 94-95 he trained his ass off, but as soon as he won the World Championship he took his foot off the pedal and just stopped training hard completely. That fight against Steve Robinson remains his best ever performance. I haven't seen Naz at his best since 94/95 with the exception of the Tom Johnson fight. Naz soon became a one-punch hoping idiot, but he was never like that around 94/95.
Naz was a total combination puncher in 94/95, an AWESOME combination puncher, and he was faster back then too. I don't know why he got so complacent, but he hasn't had a decent performance since Tom Johnson and hasn't been at his best since Steve Robinson, and that was due to taking his foot off the pedal and not training near as hard as he used to combined with him neglecting his former combination-punching style and becoming more and more reliant on the one knockout punch. What a waste.
I agree with this totally. Steve Robinson beign best performance? Certainetly a case for that, but i could argue against.
Naz Is Not Gonna Admit He Never Trained,in The Documentary It Showed He Never Trained Proper,no Sparring Etc...i Have A Picture Of Naz In Sheffield On My Mobile Phone From Last Month,he Is Even Fatter Now!!!!!

hamed was the most gifted feather that iv ever seen but his talent was wasted once he became his own boss.ie.sacked his team and brought the family in.
It is all too easy to say "ahh fuck it Im having a lie in today" when theres no-one there urging you to get up and train and having 27 million pounds sterling (over 50 mill US dollars)in the bank makes it even easier.
Naz was calling out Barrera for years and Morales for that matter yet there was no reply from Mexico,I suspect the mexican duo did what they are known best for which is box clever and not bite off more than they could chew especially when Naz was alot faster and hungrier than the lazy millionaire that ended up fighting in Vegas.
hahaha look wot i found on google. that posturin, padded pussy pube-anks clearly said "Before flying out I spoke with Naseem (over the phone) and asked him if he had done his work. He told me that he had and when I met him after arriving in Las Vegas I could tell he had."
if u dont believe me then here it is click the link below- http://www.secondsout.com/fightsites/hambar/news_18226.asp
OWNED
o and if manny realy said he didnt train hamed til 5days out then where is links to prove it
Hamed did spar but not nearly as much as he should have.
Manny steward was there for 1 week of training as this link will prove(remember it says manny was there 2 weeks before fight night but there is very little or no training in the last week before a bout as it all mental for that week)

Prince Naseem got rich and didnt need boxing anymore. Towards the end he was using boxing more and more to show his roots of Islam. He lost motivation to box which is perfectly fair enuff.
About a year after the Barrerra fight i saw him at an Eid function (an Islamic festival) - and he said to me that he was gonna start training and get ready "to get back at that mexican"....sadly he neva got motivated enuff to do so in th end.
Even if he would have trained he would of still got the crap kicked out of him. I mean seriously if you believe otherwise you need to get off naz's ball sack.
what the hell are you talking about?
he had to retire??
why did he retire, he accomplished nothing in his career, and the defining moment in his career was his exposure as a fluke. if he wasnt a fluke, then he could fight some quality competition and get another shot at a belt, to get some credibility, prove he wasnt a fluke.
sayin he had to retire makes no sense and plain and simple, it a stupid comment. by retireing, he admitted to himself, his fans, and the world that he was an overrated boxer who was nothing but a fluke
He had to retire because the top level competition in the division would have beat the shit out of him, which basically was my point, so why are you attacking my position when its virtually the same as yours?
i firmly agree. I watched the fight with about 20 mexicans, with me being the lone naseem fan, not pretty.
but seriously, why the fuck didint he take a rematch? thats a confidence issue, even lennox took the rematch with rahman, because he had the confidence the first loss was a fluke, but if hamed himself didnt think that he could win even at his best, then he was exposed. Who the fuck was he gonna fight next? Morales? He HAD to retire, his prospects were bleak and he knew it.

Excuse me asshole but if u watch the documentary u can clearly see that he wasnt taking Barrera seriously one little bit and not training with any intensity.
Well than he's retarded, and I dont think you step into the ring with the biggest fight of your life on the line without training.
y he didnt continue fighting? i dont know. y he didnt ask for a rematch? probly because he and his handlers thought that the 2nd fight would be just like the 1st.
