i read an interview with roy jones' father few weeks ago....but since then heard nothing from the roy jones camp etc. Any1 got any news on training, how he is looking in sparring etc??
All I'm hoping for is a fight that isn't boring. It would especially be nice to see a Mayweather-Gatti type of win for Roy Jones. Really, the only time Roy's fight are exciting is when he's just brutalizing the competition.
it's a shame roy sr. and jr. parted ways...sr.'s very ring smart and i think it's just what roy jr. needs right now. but it could be too little too late...
aren't roy jr. and sr. working together?
anyway i think alot of people underestimate roy's ability to comeback here. i think the mike tyson hype of coming back then being beaten has definately helped peoples notion that roy has "no chance" or that "he'll be on the canvas again" i personally have money on roy to win on october 1st and i honestly don't think ill be disappointed.

Can anyone source that interview and paste it in a diff thread or in this one for others to see? That'd be nice. I know you Spinx got the knowledge to do it.
He didn't say much, just that he is working with Roy twice a day and Roy has gotten better.
Roy was working 3 times a day against Ruiz....But the 3rd part of that regiment was weightlifting.
Man, I almost can't believe Roy's fighting again. I really thought he was retired. I can only hope he takes his health and this comeback seriously, and I think he does. Still, even then, he could end up Ko'd. :(
I agree that Roy needs to allow Tarver to fade away as the fight goes, allowing the fight to be relatively close until the 9-12 rounds where Roy will win the rounds clearly and end up with a UD, 116-112.
Can someone PLEASE post the interview with Roy's dad? I never got to see it.

I had a dream that Roy ran walked really fast to Tarver at the start of the 1st round, acted as if he was totally unconcerned about Tarver's power, and proceeded to molly-wop his ass, unleashing about 10-15 power punches right off the bat against Tarver in a corner. On the last punch a left hook landed dead on Tarver's chin and Tarver fell like a tree. Tarver stayed down for 5 seconds, got up real slowly and I think Roy was going to finish him but then the dream ended.
Damn, hope that comes true.
That isnt how Roy would beat Tarver, I agree it would be nice but it would be best to drag him into the late rounds and then turn it up...Everybody knows Tarver doesnt bring nothing after the 7th round.

I actually had a bad dream about the fight. Roy was doing great at first but then he slowed down. The dream ended with Roy Koed on the mat. I hope that dream doesn't come true... :(

That punch was so vicious it didn't only make Roy's legs like jelly it made his entire body weak.
You seen when he tried to put his arms on the canvas to support his weight he just collapsed.
Roy wasnt knocked out by Tarver because he didnt have it. Just a perfect punch landed it could happen to anybody...Look at Tyson he can get knocked out 10 times in a row and people will still think he has it....The Johnson fight is a whole other story, but I dont think Roy has it anymore but I do think he can get it, that is if he wants it.

Last time I saw Roy he was looking up at the stars.....And the next time you see Roy hes going to embarass himself again.
8,9 10...Its all over.
Hearing nothing means good news, When Roy has a hard camp (as evident with the Ruiz fight) he lets NOBODY in on anything. If I recall up until the Ruiz fight, he wouldnt even hold a public workout in fright that a reporter may report what he is doing...No news is GREAT news from the Jones camp.
Man I can't wait to see him come back. I hope he really is training hard and I hope that his heart is in it still. I think so.
