Boxingtalk is reporting that Sharmba is reviewing contracts to fight Judah in September. If this fight gets OK'd, who do you think wins?
Right now I have to go with Judah, after Sharmba's performance against Kostya, but anything can happen. He's one of my favorite fighters and I've actually met him twice, so I'm rooting for him. What do you guys think?
In the mean time go after Margarito and then let Mitchell and Mosley do battle, they are both in the same boat and would add a bit more credibility to the fight if Mitchell had beaten Mosley.
I say let Margarito/Zab unify the whole division and the winner of Mitchell/Mosley goes on to get their title shot.
IMO, that scenario is the most legit and right down the line. However, we are talking about the sport of boxing here.
ok that idea sounds better, but as you said were talking about boxing here.
Yeah, 140 is weak, too. Look to 135 now for the action with Castillo, Corrales, Kid Diamond, Casamayor, Lazcano, Juan Diaz, Julio Diaz, and Ebo Elder to take over as the deepest division in boxing. 140 has three fighters in Cotto, Hatton, and Floyd, that's it; Gatti, Tszyu, and Harris are gone (Tszyu will probably retire, if not, he's back in the top 4).
Chris Smith is not pushover, tho. I think Mitchell has a good chance at dealing with Zab, especially since he's also a southpaw.
130-135 has the best fights to be made, 140 is rather lackluster at this point.
My whole upset with the Judah/Mitchell fight is that Zab has talked and said he only wanted the big fights and Sharmba hasnt showed anything to garner that. Mitchell is totally undeserving of the fight by every aspect, this fight shouldnt be made. Margarito should be facing Zab it is as simple as that.
Mitchell signs for Judah fight!

July 06, 2005 - Moments ago, former two time junior welterweight champion Sharmba Mitchell informed Boxingtalk.com that he has signed a contract to face undisputed welterweight champion Zab "Super" Judah on Showtime Championship Boxing on September 3. "I'm thrilled to get this opportunity and I want to let all of my fans know that I'm not letting anybody down this time. Zab is in trouble," said Mitchell. Judah was unavailable for immediate comment, but his attorney Josh Dubin has informed Boxingtalk that the welterweight king hasn't signed any contracts as this goes to print. Judah was unavailable for immediate comment.
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
the best fighter in the world is also a quitter? WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
how old are you?

i dont think any of them deserve a shot. i mean this is mithcles first fight at 47, coming of a loss, y does he get a shot? mosely, he beat david estrada... wow big deal.
Mitchell fought Chris "The Mechanic" Smith at 147 on the Tyson undercard. I think Smith's nickname sums up his career because thats what he does as his day job.
Mitchell is a name, 147 isnt so hot anymore
147:
Judah
Margarito
Mosley
Collazo
Cintron
Clottey
Urkal
Rivera
Estrada
That is pretty much the only names at 147. The Mitchell fight is justifiable because he is a name but like I said it is BS there are more deserving fighters at 147 than Mitchell.
147 is WEAK!

Though I'm not to happy about Zab fighting Sharmba (I think he's done) it would allow Shane(He's not done yet) to get another tune-up fight which I think he needs and they could fight each other after, that I wouldn't mind at all.

Judah will win this one convincingly. Sharmba will always be remembered for his loss to Tszyu and it's not really a great memory. Judah is the more agressive fighter of the two.
and Judah will always remembered for his loss to Tszyu also.
Mitchell doesn't want to admit it but I think his age is catching up to him. If Zab comes to fight he should make easy work of Sharmba.
Mitchell is nothing now, hes old and washed up. Judah is going to crush him.. I really wanted to see Zab fight a Margarito or a Mosley
I think Margarito beats Zab, but that's just my opinion. I actually think he makes him look bad and KOs him in the late rounds. Again, just my opinion and I don't want any flak from you guys for it.
BTW, Mosley is not available. He said he wants one more fight before going for a top fighter so he would never accept a Zab fight.
its set mitchell has signed
What a disgrace Margarito was available as was Mosley much better fighters than Mitchell. Zab does this garbage, he has one shining fight and then fights a good bit of obscure fights. Mark my words, Zab wont fight anyone of note until atleast Summer 2006.
Mitchell is very undeserving of this shot, infact because of Zab making such a dumb call I hope Mitchell wipes the floor with him. You box in one of the top 3 divisions, fight a fight that is championship caliber.

I think he's done...
I just feel tha the looked good againest Winky in te re match and needed someone like David Estrada to get him back into the swing of 147. I could be wrong but we'll see
NO WAY Antonio gets "killed" by Zab...Margarito might loose by points but no way gets tko/ko by Zab..
Margarito is a super slow starter, I think Zab will capitalize on that personally.
Sis-That isnt to far fetched if he can improve, but honestly I think he has seen his better days.
Well Sharamba Mitchell was not a guy on the top of my list to see fight Judah especially after his very lackluster performance in his last fight. But I would expect nothing less. Poor Margarito. This will be Micthell's like 2nd fight in 3 years.
Hell I was a bit surprised Sharmba would get a title shot so quickly. Got to give props to Mitchells promoters.
Mitchell might be a fairly notable name but his skills are shit and isnt anything anymore.
