Haha, Another one bites the dust.
What excuses you guys got tonight on your bar brawling bum Gatti. Whats your excuses? How about Floyd was far superior and in boxing always think with your head.
Utter domination, no excuses Floyd exposed the class of fighter Gatti was. Gatti couldn’t put anything off. Decent performance for Mayweather, not great because he wasn’t fighting a great fighter.
Take your payday and leave the 140 pound division just found their king.
Your thoughts?
Wheres your Vivan Harris signature? Huh? The one aimed at Cotto?
Vivian fought the dumbest fight I ever remember seeing him fight! I dont know what he was thinking, but he blew it in a big way and I spent most of the rds bouncing between yelling at him to just JAB and askign him what on earth he thought he was doing!! So busy trying to impress the crowd and then to just get caught the way he did, shockign!
Is there still big money for taking Gatti on, after what happened tonight?
Absolutely, Gatti is a warrior and a peoples champion and if it is in AC there will always be money. A loss doesnt matter for a fighter like Gatti and his drawing power.
You do it to Mayweather o'plenty just because you don't like his attitude. All the way to downright lying about him running tonight.
You don't like him? Fine, but don't spew outright bullshit.
alright maybe running was the wrong word :D i like mayweather the boxer, i dont like mayweather as the person he is. to be honest if he was respectful of gatti and respectful of the sport and not constantly running his mouth and showing off then he porbbaly would be one of my favorite boxers. he shows excellent skill, sorry i didnt meanrun just like, you know.
Right from one of my previous posts. explaining the beating of Gatti
People say that Floyd is going to loose because he runs his mouth and is going to take Gatti lightly. Getting paid 3.1 million plus bonuses from the selling of the ppv makes you not only run your mouth to help get the tickets sold out on the first day but also to get people to buy the ppv. Floyd has used Gatti not to be a tough fight but to help him become a superstar to the public. He is going to run through Gatti and move on to bigger paydays and even bigger fights. Hes all buisness when he steps in that ring and will prove it to the world watching.
"I'm going to beat him, I'm going to talk to him while I beat him, I'm going to talk to the reporters and announcers while I beat him, and in between rounds, I want to borrow his cell phone so I can talk to a real live Arturo Gatti fan while I beat him."-Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Come June 25th, this truly is the last day we will see Arturo "Thunder" Gatti
TO all Gatti fans, I told ya so. People said that BS not gona happen. Well I guess it did
Well the only real ppl who actually thought gatti was goin to win are the Hardcore gatti fans so it wasn't really BS, we all pretty much new pbf was going to win. Gatti was the underdog no doubt coming into this fight.
this is true, gatti is and always will be what the sport is about, he showed determination and will where many people would call it quits. he lost to someone who is in his prime and there is no excuse for that and he made no excuse. there is also no shame in it niether.how can you disrespect a man who has shown such unique qualities that are hard to come upon in this sport today? it bewilders me, they are as arrogant as mayweather himself. and whoever actually believed what mayweather said after that fight about gatti is a gullable fool. that was only to try and cover up all the disrespecting trash talk he had been saying for the weeks before the fight and to try and make fans.
Mayweather had a chance to trash-talk Gatti in the ring, and after the fight, like he always does. Whether his intentions were completely honest, I'm happy Gatti didn't have to hear it.
I agree with a lot of what you've said.
I'm a big Gatti fan. No excuses. Gatti lost to the better man, clearly. Floyd looks incredible at 140. I dont' think this fight proved Gatti to be a bad fighter. Especially since that would be taking away from Floyd's performance. Mayweather is an incredible fighter. There is no shame in losing to someone with that much skill. Floyd also showed he's settled into 140 very well, and he's hitting damned hard. Mayweather looked like he was in better condition that I've ever seen him.
Leave the Gatti fans alone. There guy took a beating, and showed the determination they love. He took his beating like a man, and had the class to admit his defeat without making any excuses. Mayweather also showed quite a bit of class, which I was really happy about.
I just don't agree that Gatti should keep fighting. I think all the punches have caught up with him. He stood up under a lot of punishment that most fighters couldn't handle. But really, I don't want to see him hurt, because he's one of my favourite fighters to watch. He's thirty three, and that's getting pretty old to be taking punishment like that. It will start to leave very permanent damage on him. If he can't handle 140 anymore, and has to move to 147, I just don't see him being able to do very much. He's looking like he's past his peak.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU. GATTI IS THE PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHAT BOXING STANDS FOR>
i dont even think people on this site know what a "bum" stands for, and if they did know what a bum is, "pretty boy" floyd is a perfect example.
Very harsh. Gatti fought with all the heart anyone can expect of a man, but Floyds speed was way too much for him. Gatti didnt make excuses, and Floyd was oh so respectful to him after the fight. Even said he was a great champion and was grateful that Gatti gave him the chance in the ring to begin with. For that, Floyd earned a little respect from me and I disliked him alot. Hes very slick, very damn fast...seems to be the complete package. there should be no shame in Gatti losing to someone of his caliber but I see absolutely no reason for Gatti to leave the div. why would he?? If every fighter that lost to a better boxer left, there'd be no one left to watch.

no one can call gatti a bum for his performance tonight, he was dominated no doubt, but every boxer who gets into a ring should have respect. i dont respect floyd though because of how much shit he talks. gatti will remain my favorite fighter because he stands what i think boxing stands for. he doesnt turn down a fight, he fights against odds, he has heart, courage, he believes in himself and he doesnt talk shit to get more money he doesnt sell himself out. although i think gatti would have done better(not saying he'd win) if he had reverted back to his origianl style of pressure and going to war. you cant expect to change gatti's style of going to war, which he is comfotable in and dominates, into a boxer. and then put him up against mayweather who is superb in that styleof fighting. it doesnt work like that. its like taking tyson and training him to be bernard hopkins.

Floyd was dominant in this fight no doubt but lets not get ahead of ourselves, gatti WAS NOT one of the elite fighters in the division. I think hatton and cotto give floyd all he can handle and with another tough fight under his belt I think cotto can knock floyd out.
Yes he does...he avoided Ike Quartey after he got that gift decision and instead of the rematch went for a big time grueling test against a past his best Oba Carr.
i think the Quartey fight was his best fight ever i had hi winning by 3 rounds. Specially how he came out in the 12 round throwing punches like no other, i still get goosebumps when i see it.
Is there still big money for taking Gatti on, after what happened tonight?
I'm thinking Gatti-Mosley might come off. Why not? Both fighter will think they have a chance in this one. 2005 Mosley is not '99 Mosley and Gatti would have a much easier time keeping up with him. You heard it here first.
Dont sleep on Oscar De la Hoya, this guy loves a challenge and he doesnt avoid anyone, if he gets focused again i can easly see fireworks

I'm not pissed I'm just high on life or something.
Anyway, I've been a huge Cotto fan for longer than anyone else I know (besides Borikua I think...ever since I saw him fight Juuko) and I've done nothing but prop him up saying he'll rule the 140 pound division. I'm ready to put mucho BS pointage on that shit.
Cool, I'm pretty keyed up too, which is why I want to make sure I'm not coming off like an asshole or anything  .
I was down on Cotto a bit before but he made me a fan again with the Abduallev fight. His work ethic, endurance and ability to change tactics on the fly are top-notch.
Gatti isnt a bum, Mayweather is just great. I dont see anybody beating Floyd right now. Cotto is only 24 so he has time to mature. Hatton beat an old tyzu who might not even be as good as Floyd. I doubt Gatti goes anywhere, there might be a Hatton Gatti fight before a Mayweather Hatton fight just for the money. I want to see mayweather go after the best fighters now. Zab Judah and Shane Mosely are very appealing fights if he goes up or they decide to go down.

haha hell I don't even know how many points I have, but I could probably throw some in, sure. Hope you're not too pissed off, I've said before that Cotto would probably be his biggest test at 140, though I haven't seen too much of Hatton. Anyway, could be a good one  .
