I just wanted to ask, who is the best middleweight outside of Hopkins in yall's opinion?
I say it is tied between Tito and Taylor...Hops already dominated one but he could lose to the other (in my opinion).
I picked Eastman to beat Hops, but since Hops has fought the best people in his weight class and dominated them all, doesn't he deserve a little less heat from fans who think he is overrated and has fought "only small guys".
Hagler made more of a career of fighting guys coming up in weight than Hops has.
hmm
Tito vs. a man who has failed to impress TWICE now at world level. Lazy man.
What? Are you saying Eastman is at that world level? If he was he would have put up better vs a million-yr-old Hops. I picked Eastman to win and he failed, big time.
Tito does not play in the ring, he is a big boy, and in this case common opponents DOES matter. Eastman is too tentative for a guy like Tito. I wouldn't doubt Tito hitting the canvas but he will be able to get back up and beat Eastman.
The reason I brought up Cherifi is because, if Tito doesn't beloong at middleiweight he would not have been able to trash Cherifi much quicker than Eastman did. Eastman is a good fighter but one could just as easily pose the question: "Does Eastman really belong at middleweight?" since he has not performed as well at middleweight as Tito has.
That's my point.
I think after Hopkins retires Trinidad will have a good run. I don't think there will be a Hopkins vs trindad 2. Sure the money would be great for both of them but Hopkins took Trinidad apart and KOed him. He can't get any more impressive then that.
hmm
P4P Tito may reign, but if he met Howard it may very well be a case of genuine nuff tump if he fought him like he did Mayorga
Tito, have you seen him lately? He is a big boy. He is definitely a legit middleweight. He will never fight below middleweight again. Oscar on the other hand might even still be able to make welterweight.
As for Eastman vs Tito. Tito waxed Hassine Cherifi whereas Eastman struggled with him at times, but eventually TKO'd him 5 rounds later than Tito did it.
Tito is at middleweight and belongs there.
Jermaine Taylor is just straight up faster harder hitting and younger than Hopkins, Hopkins only advantage is ring esperience but the man is 41 now he is ripe to fall, especially when he has Tito, Jermaine Taylor, and Winky Wright eyeballing him. Everybody wants to be the first to end his title defence streak and take his belts. Hopefully the middleweight belts stay unified for a long time it makes the division so much better.
u guys make me laugh when u talk about Sturm...no disrespect to u guys and nor to Sturm, but he ain't no no. 1 at middleweight.....i've watched his last 10 fights, and his only world rated impressive performance was agains t money-man DLH...........
So he has a long long way to go to prove his worth............Sam Soliman is one to watch out for, and he seems to be calling them all out.......but at the moment it is still hats off to Hopkins who has been very intelligent of late in picking his opponents....
So for me it goes like this:
Hopkins
Taylor
Soliman
Tito
Sturm
Roy jones is one of the best fighters I have seen,He is good to watch and rather impressive. Seen some great fights of his... But for me there is this guy called Steve Colins who would have taken Roy Jones out Many years ago,Well before him now losing fights. Once agian TO BE ONE OF THE GREAT FIGHTERS, YOU HAVE TO FIGHT GREAT FIGHTERS!!
Yeah I'd also be worried if they fought. Joppy might take his only chance and try to headbutt Felixs left hand. Felix would've really bring his a game to avoid all the possible threats like a big asteroid suddenly hitting him or the pope coming back to life again and hitting him with a bloody cross from behind.[/QUOTE
Tito has already koed joppy inside of five rounds. I can't imagine it get any better for joppy.
Trinidad or Taylor would beat Hopkins if they fought now in my opinion. That would be a fight I would want to see Trinidad vs Taylor. Taylor being young might establish himself as the new middleweight longterm champ.
nah i think taylor isnt yet ripe to annihilate the exectutioner. he could win with a lucky punch in their up coming fight, but i think he will be outboxed, most could be a KO, by bernard. i think tito is the best middleweight and the most promising to take bernards place. but there's still winky!

First of Hagler fought much better opposition that hopkins easily. The natural middleweights he fought was much better rated than the natural middleweights Hopkins fought. Leonard(whom I think Hagler beat) & Hearns became light heavyweight champion so its not their small size thats the problem. Can you really look at either of them and say they were the smaller man? Duran I concede to being the smaller man but even he became middleweight champion. ODLH & Tito does not compare to the guys above.
I think the best right now is Tito. I want to see Tito fight Hopkins again now that his body has properly adjust to the weight. Hopkins is getting old, I dont want him to come out on top! :D
o plz stop lying not one of u fucks thought sturm was gonna knock out DLH on the night of the fight.
i thought with the way dlh looked and the size factor dlh might have been in trouble. before i seen dlh, which wasnt until the 1st round, i thought sturm would get his ass handed to him.
This is not one of those "EuroGarbage" justification talks is it?

I think Joppy would give Felix problems if they were to face eachother. That is just my opinion though. Would make for the slickest opponent, and ring experience as a 3 time champ with 10 title wins.
