Okay guys, what is the best power punch in boxing history? By best, I don't mean one-off punches that ko'd an opponent in ONE fight. I'm talking about consistency over the career of a fighter. Meaning a fighter who had a punch, that when he threw it and it connected, could win him the fight instantly or turn the fight immediately in his favour.
Over the past 10 years, I would have to say Tito's left hook (to head or body). Closely followed by Tszyu's straight right hand.
However my all time favourite has to be "The Hitman's" straight right hand. When he threw that punch, it didn't just land, it didn't just connect...it fucking detonated!! If he landed that weapon of mass destruction it was over for his opponent one way or the other!! What are your thoughts? Please Share!!

Rocky Juarez has a great left hook.
shavers!
shavers right cross was amazing, the way he pounded ali was amazing but unfortunately he would sit back and let whoever he was fighting regain their composure!
foreman could deliver a punch from anywhere and it had massive power uppercuts, hooks, haymakers(his speciality) his biggest mistake was underuse of his truely amazing jabs they shake an opponents head almost as much as a cross from any other heavyweight and yet he barely used it! and he didn't use his uppercuts enough on his second coming.
tyson may not have the power of the other two but his hooks come fast and they brng friends! He has some of the hardest combinations i have seen and the ability to finish an injured opponent in the most brutal way!
Julian Jackson, believe both hands, but especially his right (see Herol Graham).
Of his 55 wins 49 on KO.
(His poor eye sights was his Achilles heel I think)
yup, i agree fully. Julian Jackson was and still is one of my favorite fighters. too bad he finished his career with a handful of losses. either way i think he was great. and one of the hardest hitting fighters in the history of the sport.....with either hand too......
Of all time? It's hard to say. The most effective weapon and hardest punch are not necessarily the same thing. I like to believe that the 2 hardest heavyweight left hooks of all time belonged to Joe Frazier and Floyd Patterson, but neither was really a one punch knockout artist. Tommy Hearns' right hand,Tua's left hook, Shavers' right hand, Tyson's uppercut, and Tito's left hook were all memorable trade mark shots, but to pick one is very difficult.
hearns shouldve been arrested for what he did to duran. imo that win sealed hearns as possibly the greatest offensive fighter ever. no one before or afterwards ever came close to doing that to duran, not leonard, hagler, barkley etc etc. the second knockdown hearns hit him with a right to the body that made him pop up in the air. i had to see that shizzle in slow motion to actually see the punch land it was so damn quick. and of course the sledge hammer that bent him in half.
One specific right hand that rocks the house is Maskaev's on Rahman, man I get so much enjoyment out of watching the replay on that. Then his lowlife fans start rioting in the stands and throwing chairs because they are fucking jerk-offs!!
mike tyson...
i agree... mike tyson in his prime poured in the most brutal punches i had seen in boxing. the one that landed on trevor berbick's chin was unforgiving
mayorga over the top right hand (the one he connected on six head lewis)
tito's left
wlad left
but i think nothing can touch hearns hook and especially tyson's uppercut when he connect it jsut right and right on ur chin or on the side of ur chin..its lights out
