My favorite smack talker is Tarver. He surely likes to talk, but he does back up his words with action.
The worst is Jam Toney. He also likes to talk, but after all the talk ... he fights some mediocre cruiser Booker.

Did you ever wondered why he fought Brooker?
Here is a hint to the answer:
Booker and Toney are fighting for the #1 mandatory challenger position in the WBC. Russian giant, Vitali Klitschko, currents hold that belt and Klitschko will be defending his title first againt Tyson-killer Danny Williams on December 11 of this year. Therefore, if Toney wins, he’s earn a shot against the winner of the Williams-Klitschko fight as early as next January.
When Ali composed POEMS to predict the outcome of his fights, he elevated smack talk to heights never seen before or since. ;) No one touches Ali, then and now. Even at the stage of health he's in, he still can dish 'em out! :D He still has nuggets spurting from his mouth, though now few and far between. :(

Yeah, he sure backed it up against journeymen johnson :)
Well, if you are going for reaction, like how a fighter's smack talk pissed off the other guy, I would have to say Rahman, when he refered to Lennox as "gay" it worked. Though he was asleep not to long after that. But Ali, was one of the best at that. Toney can talk it up really good. Beneard Hopkins did a great job when he was promoting his fight with Tito. He pissed off everybody in PR!!!
Mayorga w/o a doubt. The way he talks smack talk is as relentless as his fighting style. This crazy Nicaraguan simply overdoes it, is creative, and backs it up. Even when speaking spansh w/o a translator he sounds hilariously viscious. I love it. James Toney is a close second in this category, but doesn't match Mayorga's creativeness/ability to back it up. Who else would keep true to their word and give Felix Frickin' Trinidad a free shot at his chin? Mayorga is not allowed to retire in my opinion. He is simply way too entertaining a fighter.
B-Hop is a different type of trash talker. He is simply stone cold. His sharp, well-delivered words simply chill your blood. I've never seen anybody get into their opponent's head so effectively since Muhammad Ali. See De La Hoya in the Hopkins-DLH press conference...man, I've never seen DLH that petrified before.
There is no question that the best smack talkers are Mayorga and Toney. Mayorga because he just insults his opponents to the point of humiliation and Toney because its like he flips out and goes all street threatening to get his gun from the trunk of his car - I love it. RJJ has had his moments in the past, Naz used to talk alot but that wasn't so much smack as self promotion. Certain feuds create good banter like Morales and Barrerra having a dig at each other.
I would like to nominate Danny Williams as the worst smack talker I have ever seen. Did anyone see his 'effort' prior to the VK fight, I can't remember if it was at the press conference or the weigh in but it was lame!
James Toney because if his opponent talks smack back to him,he may threaten to get his Gun out of his car like he always does.
you can get out of the streets but you can get the streets out of you :D
That's easy!!! MAYORGA!!! No body brings the excitement like El Matador!! He reminds me of a drug lord crossed with a mental patient...plus he can back up his words and he's gotta lotta heart. Can't wait to see him back in action!!
yeah im really excited of myorga announcing his comeback
