I think toney vs. rahman would be a good fight to ranked fighters trying to get the title.than byrd vs. ruiz and whoever wins this fight fights the winner of rahman toney.than they fight the winner of vitali williams.and you have an undisputed heavy champ.
Toney's best win ever was against a good fighter Vasili Jirov, he is done after this fight, fighting a shell of Holyfield and an overweight Booker, I don't see him beating many top fighters in HWY division, he will just make a lot of noise and fade away into bolivian.
Are you kidding? His best wins ever came against:
1.) Michael Nunn
2.) Mike McCallum x2
3.) Iran Barkley and maybe at this point Jirov...
Jirov wasn't just a good fighter at that point he was the cruiserweight king.

booker?? never heard of him, whether he's undefeated or not. he needs a legit contendor. i would like a rematch against jjirov at HW. but i'll take rahman in this one.
i think Toney wins this one, he's got the skills to counter Rahman's shots all night, and i doubt Rahman would be able to land cleanly against Toney, only Roy Jones has been able to do that. This would be a nasty fight, both guys are hungry, Rahman wants to be champ again and Toney wants to win a heavyweight title so he can retire as one of the all time greats ( If i didn't think Toney is an all time great i wouldn't have his pic as my avatar). i think Toney wants it just a little more and definitely has the better skills, history is full of fights where the smaller, more skilled man beat the bigger, stronger, less skilled, Jones - Ruiz, or Gentleman Jim J.J. Corbett outboxing John L. Sullivan, Jack Johnson beating "the Boilermaker" J.J Jeffries, etc.
I concur, well said.
I can see this fight going the distance with Toney the winner by UD. It would be a great fight to see if Rahman can land the big punch. I think that would be all Rahman would have on his side in this fight. He has shown the knack for being sloppy in big fights and that inconsistancy will pave the way for Toney to be able to out smart Rahman and win this one.

I agree with jack in terms of it being a fight you`d wanna see but I think Toney would out slick Rahman. Toney has to worry about a great right hand but Rahman`s jab, although a good one is used infrequently and i believe Toney would perhaps win by KO if taken late. I wouldn`t bet on this fight though, Rahman could win it with one punch!
I'd take James Toney in that one, he's much more consistant. Sure Rahman has the size and power, but the guy simply can't put together a series of good fights. I think the guy lacks focus or somthing. My impression of Toney on the other hand is that he is on a mission to be a Heavyweight champion, he just needs to get all the injuries out of the way.
Or he needs to stop fighting bums like Booker because he is wasting his as well as everyone else's time.

Toney-Rahman
Lennox & Tua = Size and Power, beat Rahman and JT doesn't have those compared to these two.
Rahman would overwhelm Toney IMO but I don't want to completely count out Toney, he's got good defense and counters well, hey he TKO'd Evander & Jirov remember.
