thats a fucking chin!
Were do you start. heart vs chin
Holyfield is in the top of the lists when it comes to heart definetly. The guy was a cruiser though so of course hes going to get hurt.
Hopkins has got a great chin.
Wayne McCulloch
Ali without a doubt.
Marciano although alot of that had to do with his great conditioning.
La Motta, Tony Zale, Hagler, Greb, Jeffries, Dempsey.
There are so many out there to mention.
Holyfields chin is a bit overrated. Now when I say that you have to understand where I am coming from. Holyfield has been hurt many, many times in the ring so his chin is not all that it is cracked up to be-whats different with Holyfield is when you do ding his chin and he is hurt he is nearly impossible to knock out. Someone with an all time great chin is someone who never gets hurt, Holy has been hurt a number of times.
Gatti is very similiar to Holy, people talk about how great Gatti's chin is and they are for the most part offbase. Gatti gets hurt alot too but he like holfyield is extremely tough too finish, ask Mickey Ward.
An example of a truly great chin is Jorge Castro, you couldn't hurt the guy with a brick. Oliver McCall had a great chin as well.
Very good point, very good post http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif !
Best chins in my opinion: Ali, Tua, McCall, Hagler, Rocchigiani, and Foreman had a very good chin too (especially the old Foreman).
Ali did have an amazing chin. The knockdown in Ali-Frazier 1 was one of those knockdowns where the guy wasn't even remotely shaken, but the sheer force of the punch was so much that it just threw him on the canvas. He got right back up, and that's from one of the hardest punches ever.

This is what I have been saying for quite some time now when somebody brings up Gatti's chin. His chin is good but he does get hurt alot and it's his toughness that keeps him from going down.
