BoxingScene.com has been informed by a reliable source that former world cruiserweight and heavyweight champion, David Haye (26-2, 24 KOs) has split from his long-time trainer, Adam Booth.

Speculation is growing that Matt Korobov (24-0, 14 KOs) and Billy Joe Saunders (20-0, 11 KOs) will meet for the vacant WBO middleweight title on Nov 22. The number one and two contenders with the World Boxing Organisation are now in pole position to fight for the title after Peter Quillin chose to vacate the belt rather than defend it against Korobov after Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports won with a $1,904,840 purse bid to stage the contest.

The day of the ‘Jackal’ has finally arrived for Carl Frampton (18-0, 13 KOs) and his thousands of fans. Tonight at the Titanic Quarter in Belfast, 16,000 Frampton fans will make a noise that will be as unique as the location itself. Everything from the venue to the opponent is in place for Frampton to become world champion and beat a man that he already knocked out en route to a win in Feb 2013. A man, in Kiko Martinez (31-4, 23 KOs), who in 2014 is the reigning and defending IBF super bantamweight champion of the world. And for the first time, Carla Frampton, Carl’s young daughter will be in attendance for one of her Dad’s fights and provide another voice for the man from the Tiger’s Bay area of the city to draw inspiration from, should he need it of course. BoxingScene.com caught up with the world title challenger just over a week before his rematch with Kiko Martinez to talk about the champion, their first fight, pressure, Leo Santa Cruz and more.

Boxing has been making headlines for all the wrong recently and now Michael Katsidis will find himself on the front pages rather than the back. The 34-year-old slugger, known for his memorable battles with Graham Earl, Juan Diaz, Joel Casamayor and Juan Manuel Marquez has been charged with burglary relating to a break-in alleged to have happened on Jul 24.

Details are scarce but Sky Sports News has reported that IBF welterweight champion, Kell Brook, has been stabbed whilst on holiday in Tenerfie. The 28-year-old who was having time away before a proposed homecoming show in Sheffield on Dec 6 reportedly suffered a leg wound and a cut to the arm after an altercation whilst on the Spanish island.

According to promoter Eddie Hearn, the all-British super fight between Kell Brook and Amir Khan could be finalized this month. Brook, the current IBF welterweight champion has made no secret of his burning desire to fight Khan before and since winning his world title against Shawn Porter last month in America. Hearn, Brook's promoter, is still negotiating a deal between the two which could lead to their grudge match taking place next May possibly at Wembley stadium after the success of the Carl Froch-George Groves rematch which drew in an outdoor crowd of 80,000 people as well as hugely positive pay-per-view sales. Writing in his column for the Mail Online, Hearn said: “Khan obviously wants a fight with Floyd Mayweather, as does everyone in the division, but he knows that while that fight might never happen, even if it did he would make more money fighting Kell. “Everything so far has been very straightforward and I am in talks with Wembley over a May date. They want us back there as soon as possible after the success of Froch-Groves – I have no doubt in my mind that we would fill that stadium again. I hope to have this tied up in the next month or so.”

“I look at some of the middleweight champions of the past and I’m not in their world. I just had a burning desire to be a world champion.” And Darren Barker just did that on 17 August 2013 at the Revel Resort in Atlantic City when, simply put, he out fought Daniel Geale to capture the Australian’s IBF world middleweight title. A lifelong dream accomplished for the Londoner as well as some closure along with it.

The future of Scottish boxing may look bleak for those on the outside looking in and Willie Limond says patience will be needed before the next gem is unearthed. The current British light-welterweight champion 38-4 (10 KOs), who has now vacated his Commonwealth strap, can hardly call himself one for the future at 35 years old but that doesn’t stop the Glaswegian feeling convinced that the next Ricky Burns isn’t a million miles away.

The spirit, the history and the magic of the York Hall returns on Sep 20 when the iconic venue hosts its sixteenth professional boxing show in 2014. Since opening in 1929, the old lady has become one of the best known boxing venues in the UK and across the world. And later this month some of promoter Frank Warren’s young starlets will hope to dazzle and entertain as many a fighter has done in the hall’s square ring over the past 85 years.

This Saturday’s British heavyweight title eliminator between Gary Cornish 18-0 (10 KOs) and Ian Lewison 10-2-1 (6 KOs) is off. Instead, Larry Olubamiwo 10-7 (9 KOs) steps in at late notice to replace the injured Lewison in what will now be a ten-round contest. Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora will contest the vacant British heavyweight title in a rearranged match on Nov 22.
