BoxingScene.com has been informed by a reliable source that former world cruiserweight and heavyweight champion, David Haye (26-2, 24 KOs) has split from his long-time trainer, Adam Booth.

Information has been circling over the last few days that Haye, who as this website earlier reported has been training in Las Vegas with Ismael Salas , will be linking up with boxing adviser/manager Al Haymon sooner rather than later.

Haye, who has been plagued with injuries over the last couple of years and looking at a possible retirement, had been linked to a return in England this autumn but now looks likely to set up a permanent base in America. No comeback date has been mentioned but should Bermane Stiverne’s WBC heavyweight title defence against Deontay Wilder (who also works with Haymon) be eventually finalised then the Brit may find himself on the undercard with a view to facing the winner.

Booth, who currently works with the likes of light middle/middleweight contender Andy Lee and bantamweight prospect, Ryan Burnett, had guided Haye to such memorable victories over Jean-Marc Mormeck, Enzo Maccarinelli and Nikolay Valuev – a win that won Haye the WBA world heavyweight title.
