Most Valuable Promotions / Harry Aaron / Most Valuable PromotionsLightweight world titleholders Caroline Dubois and Stephanie Han will face off in a 135lbs unification bout February 20 of next year in El Paso, Texas, Most Valuable Promotions announced Friday.
Dubois (14-0-1, 5 KOs), a Londoner now fighting out of Miami, will put her two belts up against her opponent's one but will be facing Han (13-0, 3 KOs) in her own backyard, at the GECU Arena at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso.
"I can’t wait to get back in the ring and I can’t wait to go into Stephanie Han’s hometown and add another world title to my collection," said Dubois, 25. "I respect what she’s accomplished, but I’m coming to El Paso to take her title and show everyone why I’m the best lightweight in the world.
Dubois most recently handled Amelia Moore in a wide unanimous decision on August 29 in Birmingham, U.K., while Han, 36, is coming off back-to-back defeats of combat sports legend Holly Holm.
But a three-belt unification and two undefeated records on the line almost certainly makes their Feb. 20 headliner the biggest fight of each woman's career.
“This fight is a dream come true!" Han said. "Finally, I have the opportunity to unify titles in my division and get one step closer to becoming the undisputed queen of the lightweight division!"
Said Dubois: "These are the kinds of fights I’ve been working toward my entire career. I want all the belts, I want the biggest fights, and I want to prove myself against the best."
