Well known trainer Rudy Hernandez was recently in Moscow, at the invitation of promotional company "World of Boxing" and gave his thoughts on the upcoming WBO/WBA/IBF light heavyweight unification between 49-year-old Bernard Hopkins of Philadelphia and hard-punching Sergey Kovalev or Russia. Oleg Hermann, manager of IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (30-0, 27KOs), believes Puerto Rican star Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs) would be willing to face his boxer in 2015. Golivkin returns on Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. He will face WBC interim-middleweight champion Marco Antonio Rubio of Mexico. The World Boxing Council has made an unusual decision by sanctioning the fight as a unification/mandatory eliminator for Cotto's WBC middleweight crown. It is one of the rare occasions where a reigning champion can become the mandatory challenger to a world title of a rival sanctioning body.

Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach did a lot of work with 35-year-old Russian boxer Denis Lebedev (25-2, 19KOs), who defends his WBA cruiserweight championship against undefeated Polish challenger Pawel Kolodziej (33-0, 18KOs) on Saturday night at the Dynamo Palace of Sports in Krylatskoye, Moscow, Russia.
- As I understand Andre Ward this situation with the promoter has lasted for about a year and can last for as much or even more. We have been in this situation, but in parallel sued and continued to do the fighting. Thanks to the tremendous work of the team of lawyers GGG my brother Maxim Germany (pictured right) and his colleagues from Hamburg, we won in the second instance court, and Gennady then became a free agent. Ward swears and condemned calls for a fight, but does not go into the ring, and that's the problem. No one knows how all this will continue. Yes Andre Ward says he's ready, but also Gennady ready to oppose him. Even if we agree on all conditions, without the participation of the promoter is also difficult to see how we can work with Ward, his team and his promoter and untwist a big fight when there is a war between them and the scheduled bout will be at risk every day. The only way - to find a solution themselves. I hope they will solve this problem among themselves in the near future, and we can sit down at the negotiating table. While Ward swears and is suing his promoter, he should not mention the name of GGG and talk about this fight, which he knows, and we know that will not happen in his current position.
Oleg Hermann, manager of WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (30-0, 27KOs), has no problem with having his team sit down to discuss the possibility of fighting boxers under the banner of Golden Boy Promotions. Golovkin fights exclusively on HBO and Golden Boy boxers have been primarily featured on Showtime, but now there are positive signs that a relationship between HBO and Golden Boy will be reestablished.
