According to a report in Endi, negotiations are ongoing for a potential clash between former two-division champion Zab Judah (36-5, 25KOs) and Carlos Quintana (24-1, 19KOs). The tentative discussed date is Feb. 16, on the undercard to the Kelly Pavlik-Jermain Taylor pay-per-view rematch in Las Vegas.

Both of them have been stopped in the last twelve months by current WBA welterwight champion Miguel Cotto, and both have been able to win their return bouts. Last weekend, Judah made his junior middleweight debut with a decision win over Ryan Davis in a Caribbean venue. It is expected that Judah-Quintana takes place at the welterweight limit of 147.

"We are speaking with Quintana", explained Yoel Judah to Endi.

It's strange that Quintana will face Judah on the undercard to Pavlik-Taylor, as Lou DiBella, co-promoter of the show, has been trying for some time to set up a showdown between his undefeated welterweight Andre Berto and Quintana. A breakdown in negotiations is surely the cause.
