Former two-division world champion Timothy Bradley (31-1-1, 12 KOs) is going to get one hell of a fight on Saturday, according to his opponent Jessie Vargas (26-0, 9 KOs). Vargas holds the WBA's "regular" version of the junior welterweight title and plans to go for a knockout when they collide in an HBO televised main event at StubHub Center in Carson, California.
Vargas does not sport a big percentage of knockouts on his record but plans to go for the KO and believes he is now a lot stronger after training with new coach Erik Morales.
"[I'm going to win] by unanimous decision or a KO win. I’m going the KO win that’s for sure, and I hope I get it. I’m very positive that it will come. Like I said earlier, I’ve never felt this strong before, I feel very strong and very comfortable. As soon as I connect him with the right punch, he will go down," Vargas told On The Ropes Boxing Radio.
From the very first round, Vargas is planning to take the fight to Bradley.
"Show him that I’m the stronger fighter, the smarter fighter and that there’s nothing that he can do better than me," Vargas said.
