Middleweight contender Curtis Stevens (27-4, 20KOs) is preparing for his IBF eliminator against Hassan N'Dam on October 1, but he took some time to reflect on last month's fight between IBO/WBA champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin and challenger Daniel Geale. Prior to the fight, several insiders tabbed Geale, a former two-time champion, as Golovkin's biggest test to date. GGG blew Geale out in three easy rounds. Stevens went eight hard rounds with Golovkin last November and had spurts of success in the match.
"I was hoping [GGG] won, so when I become IBF champ we can get this sh*t back on again. I want him one more time. Geale didn't look like he wanted to fight. Who said that Geale was going to be a harder fight than Curtis Stevens? And then he went in there and this okie dokie sh*t. I said 'c'mon now, what the f*** is going on?' It is what it is though. I wish I just would have went in and let my hands go, I was always thinking too much. But that's life, you live and you learn," Stevens told BoxingScene.com.
