WBA/WBO super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (13-0, 8KOs) walks around only a few pounds heavier than the 122 pound super bantamweight limit. The Cuban has said in the past that he wasn't interested in moving up to featherweight because he makes weight so easy.
Vic Salazar of Tha Boxing Voice and I recently caught up with the two-time Olympic Gold medallist to get his thoughts on the possibility of him facing fellow gold medal winner Vasly Lomachenko (1-0, 1KO), who campaigns in the featherweight division.
Rigondeaux said that if the money was right he would have no problem accepting the fight.
"That would be a big fight. I think a lot of people would want to see it. We can make that fight happen. They need to talk to me about the numbers (money) for the fight. We could meet in the middle. Maybe at 124. If the money is right why not?" Stated Rigondeaux.
