Mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin is ready for whatever Anthony Joshua, the IBF, WBA, WBO, IBO heavyweight world champion, is bringing to the table.

Joshua will defend his world titles against Povetkin on September 22nd at Wembley in London.

Povetkin is getting some top level sparring for the contest, by trading punches in the gym with fast rising prospect Daniel Dubois, who some view as a future force in the division.

Povetkin has been working hard to get back in line for a world title shot.

He was able to secure a mandatory shot at WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in May of 2016, but the contest was canceled when the Russian boxer tested positive for a banned substance.

Now the Olympic gold medal winner is pumped to get his chance at redemption.

"There is never any thoughts about losing," Povetkin told Sky Sports. "I think just about coming to the ring and winning. I do everything for that.

"We have two scenarios - whether Anthony Joshua will decide to have a rumble, or he will keep the distance.

"We have both scenarios, we don't know how it will go. We're ready for any style of fight. I just want to win, this is most important."

Back in March, Povetkin scored a vicious knockout victory over Olympic bronze medal winner David Price.

But the Cardiff crowd at the Principality Stadium were on their feet when Povetkin was hurt in the third round. Povetkin battled hard and stopped Price in the fifth.

"I can't say that this knockdown hurt me too much," Povetkin said. "But after that, I watched the moments what I did wrong in that exact moment. That was just a small mistake that I will try not to do in the fight with Joshua.

"In general, I'm satisfied with my performance. Of course I made a mistake, but I win. This is a key moment. I just want to say again, I really love how people react for boxing. Of course they support the British guy, but at the same time they love beautiful and quality boxing."
