Anthony Joshua has thanked everyone for their condolences in the aftermath of the tragic crash that claimed the life of two of his dear friends.
Abdul “Latz” Ayodele and Sina Ghami were killed when the vehicle in which they were all travelling last month collided with a stationary truck in Nigeria.
Joshua was hospitalized with his injuries but Ayodele and Ghami were killed and their funerals took place last week.
There has been an outpouring of grief on social media and through the boxing world, and Joshua is understandably struggling during “tough” times.
Ayodele and Ghami were not just members of his camp, but long-time friends.
“Thank you for all the love and care you have shown my brothers,” Joshua wrote on Instagram. “I didn’t even realise how special they are. I’ll just be walking with them and cracking jokes with them, not even knowing God kept me in the presence of great men. 100% it’s tough for me, but I know it’s even tougher for their parents. I have a strong mind, and I believe God knows their hearts. May God have mercy on my brothers.”
