WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto is technically already on weight for his upcoming defense against Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. Cotto successfully passed the WBC's mandatory 30-day weigh-in.

He came in at 160.2-pounds for scheduled bout with Canelo on November 21 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Canelo will challenge Cotto for the title at a catch-weight of 155-pounds.

BoxingScene.com had previously revealed Canelo's 30-day weight, which was significantly higher at 167.8-pounds.

Canelo has fought his last three bouts at 155. Cotto, although standing as the middleweight champion, has yet to fight at the full middleweight limit. His last two bouts took place at catch-weights of 159 and 157.

The winner of the contest will have to make a mandatory defense against WBA/IBF/IBO champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin, who plans to sit ringside next month and watch the two boxers battle it out for the title he wants.

Canelo says he is not a real middleweight and therefore refuses to fight Golovkin next, unless the fight takes place at 155.

But Golovkin's 30-day weight for the recent bout with David Lemieux was nearly 3-pounds less than Canelo - with GGG weighing 165-pounds.
