Floyd Mayweather Sr. has little respect for WBC/IBO/WBA/IBF middleweight champion king Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs).

The father and trainer of retired five division champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0, 26KOs) wants to see Golovkin step up and face bigger men - specifically current light heavyweight contender Andre Ward.

Golovkin has received a lot of criticism over his last fight, when he overpowered IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook for a fifth round TKO last month in London. Brook moved up by thirteen pounds to take the contest.

Most of the criticism is because Golovkin ripped apart Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez for doing the same thing back in May, when he fought welterweight contender Amir Khan at a catch-weight of 155-pounds.

Ward had attempted to make a fight with Golovkin last year, but GGG's team had a little interest in the contest - prompting Ward to move up to the light heavyweight division, where he's scheduled to challenge unified champion Sergey Kovalev on November 19th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

If a fight between Golovkin and Ward ever came together, at a catch-weight or not, Mayweather Sr. predicts a very easy victory for Ward (30-0, 15KOs).

"What Golovkin needs to do is to fight Ward. That’s who he need to be really fighting. He needs to fight somebody that can fight . He just wants to fight little people or somebody that cant fight," Mayweather Sr. told On The Ropes Boxing Radio.

"That’s all he does is fight smaller people, that’s all he's doing. Believe me, Ward will spank his ass! Believe me. It won't even be a fight. No contest."

Mayweather Sr. may get his wish at the end of the year, as Golovkin is currently in talks to defend his belts against WBA mandatory challenger Daniel Jacobs on December 10th in New York City. Jacobs is viewed as Golovkin's most dangerous test at 160-pounds.
