Several youngsters from the Matchroom promotional stable are hoping to catch the eye this weekend.
Heavyweight hope Leo Atang, bantamweight Adam Maca, and junior featherweight Tiah Mai Ayton are all aiming to impress on Saturday at the Rainton Meadows Arena, in Houghton-le-Spring and on DAZN,
Atang, just 1-0 but with a plenty of hype at just 18 meets 1-5-1 (1 KO) Cristian Uwaka.
“He’s a tough guy,” said Atang.
“I think he's been stopped once. He goes the rounds and he's had a little draw upset with a debutant [Joe Guest-Bourne]. It’ll be good to get in there with him.”
Like Atang, Maca is also ready for his second professional outing, and he fights Spaniard Francisco Rodriguez.
Having made his pro debut at Madison Square Garden, Maca – from Bright on the south coast – is ready for his first fight in the UK as a pro.
“I’ve got a large crowd coming a long way from home,” said Maca.
“I can’t wait to get in and put on a great performance for all of the travelling support.”
Ayton, from Bristol, is managed by Brian Peters and also hoping to move to 2-0 when the 19-year-old faces Lydie Bialic, who is 3-3-1 (1 KO) and from France.
“I can’t wait to get in there for my second pro fight,” said Ayton.
“I enjoyed every minute of my debut and hopefully this won’t be any different.
“I’ve worked so hard in the gym over the last couple of months so I’m excited to show everyone what I’ve been working on and make it 2 and 0 on Saturday.”
Also on the bill are debutant Bradley Casey, Cameron Vuong, Sandy Ryan, Mark Dickinson, who meets Troy Williamson, and top of the bill sees world-rated Pat McCormack face Miguel Parra.
