Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez revealed his new pound-for-pound list, in the wake of last Saturday's loss by Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez.
Marquez has tabbed IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) as the new pound for pound king of boxing.
On the same card as Chocolatito's shocking defeat, Golovkin went the twelve round distance for the first time in his career with a tough unanimous decision win over mandatory challenger Daniel Jacobs. He is now potentially going to fight in June with WBO champion Billy Joe Saunders.
Despite the loss, Marquez ranks Chocolatito as the second best fighter in boxing.
In the number three slot, Marquez ranks IBF, WBA, WBO light heavyweight champion Andre Ward, who is possibly heading to a June rematch with Sergey Kovalev.
At number four, Marquez ranks WBO super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko. The Number five position, according to Marquez, is held by WBO, WBC junior welterweight champion Terence Crawford.
Keith Thurman, who earlier this month unified the WBC, WBA welterweight titles with a win over Danny Garcia, received the number six position on Marquez's list.
The seventh fighter on the list is WBO junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, who in May will move up to 164.5-pounds to face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on Cinco De Mayo weekend. If all goes as planned, Canelo could face Golovkin in September if their camps reach a deal on the terms.
Eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao, who Marquez fought four times, has the eight position on the list. Pacquiao's return date, and opponent, has yet to be finalized.
At number nine, is the new WBC lightweight champion Mikey Garcia, who wants to have a unification clash in the summer.
And round off the list at number ten is Japan's Shinsuke Yamanaka.
