Former world champion Luis Collazo (37-7, 20 KOs) is looking to get in the mix after undergoing surgery in August to correct an injury to his left arm.

Collazo was once again a part of the welterweight conversation after knocking out Sammy Vasquez Jr. in February. The victory got Collazo back from red, after suffering a TKO defeat at the hands of current WBA, WBC welterweight champion Keith Thurman.

At the moment he's looking to secure the biggest opportunity possible at this late stage in his career.

One of the boxers who draws interest from Collazo, is undefeated BF welterweight champion Errol Spence - viewed by many experts as a rising star in the sport.

Spence will return to the ring next month, when he makes the first defense of his title against two-division champion Lamont Peterson at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

If the fight was offered to him tomorrow, Collazo would be ready to go. He believes the Barclays Center would be the perfect venue to host that fight as well.

"I would absolutely be ready if Spence is presented and it makes sense. I’ve never ducked anyone and never will. That would be another great fight for Barclays, where he stopped Chris Algieri his last time there and where he’s fighting Lamont Peterson," Collazo told Premier Boxing Champions.

"People love Spence in Brooklyn, but I’ve noticed in the most recent training camps that I’ve been performing better and getting stronger against lefties. The two times I fought southpaws, I was supposed to get stopped or to lose and I ended up knocking out Ortiz and Vasquez."

Another fight that Collazo likes, is a showdown with another ex-beltholder, Shawn Porter.

"I’ve called out Shawn Porter, who is a top guy. That would be an awesome fight, too, because of our aggressive styles. I just want to fight any of the top guys before I go out," Collazo said.
