Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs) is full steam ahead with his preparation for a fall defense against  IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-0, 25KOs).

The fight came about when weeks of negotiations for a fight with British middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr. fell through. Eubank was unable to reach an agreement with his promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport.

Before Eubank, Golovkin had failed to secure fights with Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders.

Once the Brook fight was finalized, quite a few boxers went public with their desire to face Golovkin.

According to Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions, they are always mobbed with public challenges once GGG is contractually bound to another fight.

"It's funny how..and I was talking to [Golovkin's trainer] Abel [Sanchez] about it today, as soon as we announce a fight then all of a sudden we get 'we'll fight him, we'll fight him, we'll fight him.' It doesn't make sense," Loeffler told BoxingScene.com.

Brook will be the second fight for Golovkin in 2016. Golovkin blew away IBF mandatory challenger Dominic Wade in two rounds back in April. A third Golovkin fight for 2016 is already being planned by Loeffler.

"If everything goes well with Brook in September, we would then look for a November, December date. Gennady is the most active world champion in the sport of boxing. He's the only champion with 22 knockouts in a row. Its my job to look ahead," Loeffler said.
