Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) is not too impressed with the punching power of WBA 'regular' welterweight champion Keith 'One Time' Thurman (26-0, 22KOs).

Thurman has been calling for a fight with Khan in the near future. Both are expected to return in the fall and neither has an opponent lined up. Khan has mentioned a potential fight with Thurman on several occasions, but he predicts that fight is likely going to happen in 2016.

Khan likes his chances in the fight and he's not drawn back by the feared power of Thurman. He feels Thurman's power is a bit overhyped and noticed the feared puncher is unable to overwhelm his recent opponents as he did in past fights against lesser opposition. Khan has noticed a lot more movement from Thurman in recent contests.

“He calls himself ‘The One Time’, but instead I think he should call himself ‘Sometime’ because it’s only sometimes he can hurt these top class fighters. When you are up and coming and you fight these up and coming guys, you can always beat them and knock them out and whatever - because that power is always going to be too much for [the opponents they face in the beginning]," Khan told Dubai Eye 103.8.

"Since he moved up to a different level, a world top level, you can see him having a lot of problems....you can see that power not always working for him, you can see more movement, you can see him running. I've seen a few flaws. I like the way he fights. He's a great fighter, but he's got a few flaws. That would be an amazing fight for me."
