Amir Khan thinks very little of Kell Brook's upcoming defense of the IBF welterweight title against Diego Chaves. The fight is scheduled for October 24th in Sheffield.

Khan (31-3, 19KOs) vs. Brook (35-0, 24KOs) is one of the biggest fights to be made in the UK.

Brook would like to face Khan by the midway point of next year. Khan says it's possible, if Brook steps up his level of competition.

Khan has been very critical of Brook's opponents since he captured the title last August from Shawn Porter. Brook has faced and beaten huge underdogs Jo Jo Dan and Frankie Gavin.

Chaves, while dangerous has only picked up a single victory in his last four bouts. He was knocked out by Keith Thurman, disqualified with Brandon Rios and was very fortunate to get a draw with Timothy Bradley, who almost everyone at ringside saw as the winner.

"Kell Brook is another good name [to fight in the future]. In 2016 I'll think he'll get that fight [against me]. I don't know much about Diego Chaves, but I know that he's lost three of his last five fights. He's really got to up his game and fight the top guys like I do. I wish him all the best and hope he keeps winning," Khan told Sky Sports.
