Former European champion Kerry Hope (17-4, 1 KO) is fully supporting Grzegorz Proksa (28-1, 21 KOs) to win his upcoming fight against WBA "regular" middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (23-0, 20 KOs), which takes place on September 1st at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York. HBO will televise. Hope has been involved in two tough fights with Proksa.
Hope won a controversial twelve round majority decision over Proksa in March. Proksa suffered a horrible cut above his left eye in the second round and the blood rained down for the entire contest. The Polish boxer got revenge in July with an eight round TKO victory
"Grzegorz has a very strong punch. Golovkin may be surprised with the strong impact [of the punches] that are going to be flying in his direction. Golovkin is a world-class athlete, but the battle with Proksa will be a big challenge for his professional career," said Hope.
"I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Proksa, I would like him to win. I know how hard he works on his success and he's a very good man outside the ring."
