David Benavidez has no shortage of HUGE fights on his radar. In an exclusive interview with BoxingScene, Jose Benavidez Sr. makes it clear that David still wants the biggest names at 175lbs including Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev. Benavidez has previously said those are two fights he wants to make as he pursues more titles and major challenges. But there’s another name that could make things very interesting: Andy Ruiz Jr. Jose discusses the possibility of an all-Mexican showdown between Benavidez and the former heavyweight champion, along with David’s plans across multiple divisions. And with a potential Jai Opetaia showdown also building after the pair came face-to-face following Opetaia’s latest victory, Benavidez has some massive options ahead.
ProboxTV’s championship series is now on the ProBoxTV YouTube channel for $5/month.

Former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., and IBF super featherweight champion Gervonta Davis, are expecting a new middleweight king to be crowned this fall, when Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (49-1-1, 34KOs) challenges IBF, IBO, WBC, WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs).
Mayweather has always been confident in Canelo's ability to defeat Golovkin. After their recent performances, he is still confident that GGG will taste his first defeat.
In March, Golovkin went the twelve round distance for the first time in his career with a hard-fought unanimous decision over Daniel Jacobs at New York's Madison Square Garden. Canelo was in action last Saturday night, when he won a twelve round decision in a one-sided fight against countryman Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
After Canelo busted up Chavez Jr., it was officially announced that he would face Golovkin on September 16th, during Mexican Independence Day weekend. The venue has yet to be finalized - but T-Mobile, AT&T Stadium, Alamodome, Dodges Stadium and Madison Square Garden are all pushing to get the fight.
Mayweather not only picks Canelo to walk away with four world titles, he also says the fight with Chavez Jr. should have been stopped.
"With Triple G and Canelo, I'm leaning to Canelo. The other day, I think they should have stopped that fight. That's just my opinion. That guy Chavez was off a year and he was basically a punching bag," Mayweather told The Mayweather Boxing Channel.
Davis, who returns this coming Saturday in a mandatory defense against Liam Walsh in the UK, believes the skills of Canelo will trump the punching power of Golovkin.
"I believe that Canelo will win, win on points. I think Canelo has got the skills. Triple G got the punch, but I think Canelo's power, and his skills, he can pull it off," Davis said.
