Tevin Farmer (20-4-1, 5 (KOs) impressed the boxing public with his last display, a stunning one punch knockout over Daulis Prescott on August 8.  The Philadelphia southpaw, whose last defeat came in 2012 against current IBF super featherweight champion, José Pedraza, has rebuilt his career after four losses early on and has started to gain momentum.

“I reached out to Pedraza on Instagram and he told me he won’t fight me until I get a title, and I can respect that,” Farmer told BoxingScene.com.

“He knows what I would do to him, he doesn’t want to lose his title and has nothing to gain from me.  I’m confident I can beat everybody in my division.

“Right now we are looking at December for my next fight.  I was looking at October but the guy didn’t want it.  We want to get another fight in, end the year strong.  I’m looking to fight anyone in the top 15, because I want to move up.  I want to unify the division and then be gone.  I would also fight at 126lbs if I had the opportunity, but I will move up to 135lbs eventually.”

The 25-year-old, like many current boxers is social media savvy and revealed that he has tried to make fights via the different networks that are popular with boxers at the moment.

“I sparred Vasyl Lomachenko before he fought Gary Russell.  Russell inboxed me on Instagram one day, he’s a champion with the WBC.  He said to me, ‘You’re good, it’s good that you believe in yourself but stay in your lane.’  But he reached out to me so I’ve got to be somebody.  It’s nothing for me to jump down to 126lbs and challenge him, but would he take it?

“Javier Fortuna blocked me on Instagram, that goes to show he doesn’t want to fight.  Rocky Martínez has a title but these guys don’t want to fight me.  I will have to be a mandatory.  I’m willing to risk everything to get to the next level.

“Gary Russell will not take the fight.  I haven’t fought at 126lbs for two years but I would move down.  D.C. and Philly don’t like each other anyway, there’s a big rivalry.”
